After eight years on CSI, William Petersen, who plays Gil Grisson, will be leaving the series. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that William Petersen will be leaving the series sometime mid-season, but will continue on as executive producer. According to CSI’s executive producer, “Billy is leaving, but he will remain throughout the run of the series as an executive producer. And he will, whenever CBS asks, come back.
