It will show you on how to create an Abort shortcut on Windows Vista so you can quickly click on it to abort either a shutdown or restart before their delay time is up.

Follow the below instructions to create Abort shortcut in Windows Vista.

1. Right click the empty area on the desktop.

2. Click option – NEW.

3. Click option – SHORTCUT.

4. Now type – shortcut.exe –a inside the empty box in the window – CREATE SHORTCUT.

5. Click NEXT.


6. For the name, type – Abort or whatever you please.

7. Click FINISH.


8. Right click the new ABORT shortcut.

9. Click PROPERTIES.

10. Now click the button – CHANGE ICON.


11. Click OK in the pop-up window.


12. In the window – CHANGE ICON, click the icon that is highlighted in blue.

13. Click OK.


14. Click OK for application.

15. Now you can MOVE or COPY the new ABORT shortcut wherever you feel it convenient for your use.
