Women and Business
Resources are available to help women business owners, or the women hoping to start their own business, achieve success. Helpful hints on a variety of topics will be covered.
Who Needs A Good Night's Sleep
Of course everyone needs a good night of sleep! There are always those who might argue to the contrary or boast that 3 hours of sleep is all that is needed. But, is that a scientific fact?
No. In a recent study conducted by Duke University, it was found that women more than men suffer from a lack of sleep. In fact, chronic lack of sleep poses serious health threats to women. The study found that women were more susceptible to heart disease, stroke, and depression.
Only a few years ago, the University of Chicago did a study on sleep and the relationship to nutrition. The study found that when our sleep requirements are not met that throws off the bodies ability to respond to hunger urges. We do not get enough sleep we are more likely to eat more.
Our bodies are indeed finely tuned instruments. They can withstand a good deal of abuse. However, when we ignore the symptoms of problems like lack of sleep, over a period of time our entire being suffers. Are you suffering from hunger pangs that are distorted, are you depressed, are your sinuses and allergies making sleep difficult, are you going through menopause? Imagine the impact upon our physical and psychological well being when there are multiple symptoms culminating in a lack of sleep.
Can you afford to continue to ignore your need for sleep? Can your business afford to have you less than alert and energetic? Seek medical attention immediately. It can make all the difference in the world.
