Merriam-Webster Announces 2008 Word of the Year: Bailout

Merriam-Webster, that bellweather of the greater consciousness, has released its 2008 Top 10 Words of the Year. The results should come as no surprise as today it was announced that we're officially in a real recession and the Dow dropped nearly 700 points. Number 1 is "bailout."
