The videos are a great tool for maligning, demonizing and dehumanizing. A video was used in 2001 to show the world that the “Taliban” were Neanderthal thugs and inhuman. So it was easy attack them with Daisy Cutter bombs which is one level below a Nagasaki class Atomic Bomb.
The Video of 2001 played a crucial part in “Manufacturing Consent” and preparing the way for a brutal and ruthless invasion and occupation of Afghanistan. Today in the so called “Free Kabul“, there is more violence against women, more rapes of women and more murder of women. The First Afghan woman who came forward to speak up against the “Taliban” recently left Afghanistan saying that Afghanistan was safer under the Taliban then under Karzai.
A few days ago, a video appeared showing a woman being spanked in public. The woman has said that no such incident took place. Now it turns out the so called victim in the video “Chand Bibi” claims that no such incident took place. Many analysts have claimed that the incident never happened in Swat, and that the video is about 2 years old, not a few feews old as claimed.
Some have also claimed that the video actully was from Afghanistan and the woman is being spanked by cohorts of Mr. Karzai.
A Pakistani teenage girl at the center of national outrage over a video purporting to show her public flogging by the Taliban reportedly told an Islamic judge and a provincial official that the incident never happened.
The video, shown last week by Pakistani television and widely posted on the Web, shows the crying 17-year-old girl being held down by several men — including a man identified as her brother — as a member of the Taliban beats her.
The incident reportedly took place between two and five weeks ago in the Swat Valley village of Kala Killay. The video has sparked nationwide condemnation and demonstrations challenging the government’s decision to allow Shariah law into the Taliban-controlled region.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani called for an immediate inquiry and Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry — recently restored to office — ordered police and government officials from the north-western territory to bring the girl to court for questioning.

Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media is a book by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky, first published in 1988.
Presenting an analysis its authors call the “propaganda model,” the book argues that since mass media news outlets are now run by large corporations, they are under the same competitive pressures as other corporations. According to the book, the pressure to create a stable, profitable business invariably distorts the kinds of news items reported, as well as the manner and emphasis in which they are reported. This occurs not as a result of conscious design but simply as a consequence of market selection: those businesses who happen to favor profits over news quality survive, while those that present a more accurate picture of the world tend to become marginalized.

The book further points out issues with the dependency of mass media news outlets upon major sources of news, particularly the government. If a particular outlet is in disfavor with a government, it can be subtly ’shut out’, and other outlets given preferential treatment. Since this results in a loss in news leadership, it can also result in a loss of readership/viewership. That can itself result in a loss of advertising revenue, which is the primary income for most of the mass media (newspapers, magazines, television). To minimize the possibilities of lost revenue, therefore, outlets will tend to report news in a tone more favorable to government and business, and giving unfavorable news about government and business less emphasis.Wiki

But the girl, identified as Chand Bibi, instead was interviewed at her home by an Islamic judge and a local government commissioner, and reportedly told them that the beating never happened. Fox News. The Times of India, the Daily News, Dawn, Reuters and the BBC contributed to this report.
“She requested the judge and the commissioner to spare her from appearing in the court in Islamabad,” said provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said, the Times of India reported.
Hussainsaid that upon questioning by the Islamic judge, she denied neighbors’ claims that she had been dragged from her home, held down and flogged. She also denied reports that she had been charged withhaving an illicit relationship with a local man — who witnesses claim also was beaten — or that the Taliban forced the two to marry, the Times reported.
Instead, Hussain said, the girl told the judge the man was her husband, and that the video was a fake distributed to disrupt the peace process in the region.
“We condemn the acts of repression against women…. But the incident depicted in the videotape never took place in Swat,” Hussain said.
The aim of this video is to destroy the peace in Swat and create civil war. Since when has Mehsud started to control Vietnamese in the USA? Some idiot is now taking credit for everything under the sun–Lahore, Islamabad, and even New York..Lunacy!..it is just hot air!
These statements are even more fake than the 10 different images of OBL–who would release a vide right before a US elections. When did the Taliban get into the business of calling press conferences and taking credit for sabotage..isn’t this new? Taking credit for New York was so hilarious– most were in stitches. The only thing more funny was the FBI denying that Mehsud had a hand in the incident involving the Vietnamese.
Let them not obfuscate the issue—”they” are supporting, arming and training these incidents of sabotage against Pakistan–then turning around and blaming Pakistan/Muslim for their own puppets. Brilliant.
The message is..you brown boys can’t control these animals…so it is the White Man’s burden to take care of this!
Isn’t this another media campaign to create a false flag to dehumanize Pakhtuns, and give the US a reason for intervention? Doesn’t this remind us of the videos run on CNN 24 hours a day about he prosecution of women in Afghanistan circa 2001.

Pakistani officials had no comment Monday on the girl’s claims, a day after thousands of women turned out across the country to protest her alleged treatment.
But a spokesman for the Pakistani Embassy in Washington told FOXNews.com that the government is investigating the video to determine who, if anyone, is at fault.
“The people of Pakistan were outraged by this video and there are many questions: if this has been manufactured by some groups of vested interest, or if it is real. And so investigations are still going on,” said Nadeem Kiani, press attache for the embassy.
“On the face of it people are outraged, the government has condemned this and shown their resolve that they would never allow this thing to happen in Pakistan at any cost.”
A State Department official told FOX News that they are monitoring the situation and support Pakistani efforts to bring the perpetrators of the beating to justice.
“We are concerned about the situation in the Swat Valley,” the official said in response to questions about the application of Shariah law there, calling the incident “an internal Pakistani matter.”
Kiani, who said the act of public violence against women was “unheard of” in Pakistan, said the government will take “all possible steps so that … no incident of violence takes place against women anywhere in Pakistan, may it be Swat or Islamabad or Lahore.”
Meanwhile, the man who videotaped the flogging told Pakistan’s Dawn News that the girl was being punished for refusing a marriage proposal from a Taliban militant. Fox News. The Times of India, the Daily News, Dawn, Reuters and the BBC contributed to this report.
There is more outrage about this spanking among the elite than the rape, murder and burning of 2000 men and women who happened to be Muslim in Gujarat (see movie called Parzania)
How about a Youtube video about the 1 million women raped in the USA, and the 10,000 murders in US cities. Maybe even a video about the gangs in NYC, LA and 50 million Indian widows incarcerated in temples, or the condition of the Dalitwomen 450 million of which live in slavery. Are we also going to make videos about all the sodomy centers called prisons in Pakistan (complete with leg irons) and create a media campaign on 25% of the world’s prison population in the USA…Jeffery Dahmer and the school shootouts..or are the videos confined to FATA and Pakistan.
