Goyer has doubts over Magneto, but see master of magnetism in two new trailers

LAST MONTH, producer Lauren Shuler Donner indicated that the prequel X-Men Origins: Magneto was "at the back of the queue" of potential X-Men movies and said the film may not even get made.

David Goyer, who reworked Sheldon Turner's screenplay for the film and is set to direct, has spoken about the project to MTV and echoes Donner's views.

Goyer, who is also the showrunner of FlashForward, said: "I tend to agree with her.

"[Fox is] still trying to figure out what they want to do, whether or not they'll do a different X-Men movie next or another Wolverine movie next. If they want to make Magneto, that's awesome.

"In the meantime, I'm just going to move on with my other projects."

He added: "Even taking FlashForward aside, I'm booked up for another year and a half. I have no complaints."

In the meantime, we can console ourselves with two new Magneto video clips, which I've included below.

One is a clip of the recent release Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 which shows Magneto in action, with one great sequence where he surrounds the Hulk with metal to turn him into a hamster ball so he can roll over his enemies.

The other is a fan-made trailer for X-Men Origins: Magneto, using footage from the existing X-movies set to the Freedom Fighters track Two Steps From Hell that was used in this year's Star Trek.
