And are you sure you validated the CSS or the XHTML? The CSS validator is different than the XHTML one. Use the Options on the W3C validator page and tick "Show Source', which will give you a good idea of where the XHTML errors are. Dsable your plugins one at a time to see if the invalid code is generated by one of them.
