Yasuyuki Kitano and Harumi Sakamoto invited hundreds of guests, including Japanese celebrities, to their wedding reception in 2003. Kitano claimed that he was a member of the Arisugawa branch of the imperial family. However, the Arisugawa branch died out for lack of a male heir more than 90 years ago. In 2006, Kitano and Sakamoto were were exposed and both sentenced to two years and two months in jail.
Actress Kitano Kie and actor Hayashi Kento are co-starring in a romance film titled “Love Fight,” directed by Narushima Izuru (”Midnight Eagle”).
The story is themed around boxing, and centers on the love story between a good-for-nothing guy ( Hayashi Kento ) and his childhood friend ( Kitano Kie ), who has become strong at fighting.

The General Insurance Association of Japan (Sonpo) has revealed its 2008 poster model for its long-standing Fire Prevention Poster campaign.
Out of more than 59,000 applications, young actress Kitano Kie, who turned 17 earlier this month, was chosen for the role.
Past poster models include Matsuda Seiko, Sakai Noriko, Ueto Aya, and Toda Erika (last year).

Actress Kitano Kie, who starred in the popular drama series “LIFE” this season, appears in a new music video by Kick the Can Crew leader LITTLE.
The appearance is being touted as her first collaboration with film director Nakano Hiroyuki, who is well-known for his work on music videos.
The song, called “Yume no Sei,” is a solo release by the rapper, due out on October 10. The video can be streamed from LITTLE’s official site.

Today the Tokyo District Court convicted Yasuyuki Kitano and Harumi
Sakamoto of fraud. The couple held an elaborate "royal" wedding
in 2003. At the time, Kitano claimed that he was a member of the
now defunct Arisugawa family. Yasuyuki and Harumi recieved
congratulatory gifts worth almost 3 million yen!
Its amazing that the press and media didn't expose their false claims back in 2003.
