A Few Words On Our Interviews

There’s been some curiosity around our celebrity interviews. How do we get them? Who does them? Who else are we interviewing? Can we put them in touch with Cameron Diaz?

Many of our interviews are conducted by a red carpet lothario named Fred Topel. Fred lives in Los Angeles and is the darling of the Hollywood publicity machine. He’s also a really good guy. So he does many of our celebrity interviews at either the Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton or some other swank hotel. Occasionally, he’ll fly to New York, Las Vegas or even Europe, if it’s a big name celebrity.

The format, many times, is what’s called a “round table” interview. That is, he and a couple other writer goons are at a table with whoever and each gets a turn asking questions. Of course there are the one-on-one interviews as well as the big conference style junkets. Remember that movie Knotting Hill where Julia Roberts is being interviewed in that hotel ball room by all those journalists? Fred goes to those sometimes, too.

We have much in the hopper, interview-wise. Some will be A-listers but I want to showcase some lesser known celebrities-to-be as well. We’ll try to stick with the more interesting ones though.
