Zimbio Publishes the 50 Best Dressed Celebrities of 2009

Zimbio.com, an online magazine focused on the most interesting people in popular culture, recently published its 50 Best Dressed Celebrities of 2009.

The notion of "best dressed" is subjective, of course, we all know that. We also know that there is definitely a right way to dress and a wrong way to dress. (For the latter, check out the 50 Worst Dressed Celebrities of 2009.) Everything else in between probably comes from from The Gap. And not in a bad way, there's nothing wrong with playing it safe.

When assembling our Best Dressed list of 2009, we turned to our resident fashion expert, fresh from her trip to New York where she was covering Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

"I took many factors into account when assessing a contender," says Alicia Dennis, the piece's author. "The 'wow' factor of her grooming and styling, the consistency of her red carpet decisions, and also the riskiness of those choices."

But the most weight, she says, was given to a star's sense of personal style, and whether their approach to fashion has influenced the way women dress in 2009. It's safe to say that all of the people on the list have proved inspirational to plenty of fashion-lovers.
