Award trophies, trophies are souvenirs of victories. When they're given as awards they're called award trophies. Awards are usually given to commemorate a certain level of excellence achieved by a person. Award trophies include those given for cultural events, sporting events, company feats, or heroic achievements, like those done by police and fire fighters. Olympic trophies, Grand Slam trophies, World Cup trophies and PGA trophies are awarded for sporting excellence. Big companies award trophies of good service to employees, and brave achievements are recognized publicly by awarding cops and fire fighters for their meritorious service. Award trophies for sporting excellence are well-liked. Olympic trophies are most coveted. Olympics include pony riding, rowing and gymnastics. An Olympic award can boost the career of any athlete representing his country. Every four years the olympic games are hosted by different countries amid great fanfare and party, to combine the world in the sporting spirit. In tennis, there's a series of contests including Wimbledon, the French Open, the Australian Open, and the Italian Open. The team that wins and the individual players that shone through the contest are etched in public memory. Cricket also has a World Cup, though it is restricted to the Brit Commonwealth countries in its popularity. Awards are feats, and award trophies are mementoes of feat to be cherished forever. Award trophies are made from different metals, materials and designs. But that pales in comparison to what the film industry has to offer . Few industries have as many awards as the flick industry. The Razzies is short for the Golden Raspberry Award and it is given every year for the worst actors and worst films Hollywood put out for the year before. In recent years Hollywood has been ceaselessly accused of having no worthwhile pictures coming out and that has caused a rise in the media exposure of the Razzies and its accompanying ceremony every year.
