Making money online is more involved today than it used to be. It used to be that making money online was pretty darn easy. It's not that easy anymore. Maketing today is a bit more difficult. The cleaver tricks that used to work on most people are played out. Ot wasn't very flong ago that those anoying popups were everywhere. You cant hardly get a toolbar now without it having some sort of popup blocker built into it these days. What was so cleaver about these software makers was that they sold it through affiliate marketers who utilized the annoying pop-up windows to market the pop-up blocker software. I suppose it was a double edged sword for those affiliate marketers. For each customer they sold a copy of the software too ensured the death of their primary marketing tactic. Oh, the irony of it all.
Honestly, whoever came up with the idea of popup advertising was either a moron, or the implementation of his idea was just never understood by his followers. Without targeting the popup to the customer it sue was a waste. I would not doubt some of these idiots were popping up porn ads on chuch websites and wondering why they are not getting any conversions. They have a few sayings that people use to describe someone who is a real good salesman that goes something like, "that guy could sell a snowball to an eskimo" or "He could sell a glass of water to a drowning man." They have another old saying that goes something like, "and if you believe that I've got some beach front propery in Arizona I could sell you." This one means you are an idiot if you believe something.
You are probably asking yourself what the point of this article is, and the point is simple really. If you try to sell beach front property it better be on the ocean now, and if you got snowballs for sale you may want to market them to people who are hot. All you need to do is remind yourself that people are not stupid. Don't scam people, and sell something to people who are actually interested in buying it. It's not rocket science. Monetize the site with product ads that are targeted to your demographic and you will make money. If you build a junk website with junk content and target it to harvard grads and then put ads for teeth whitening all over it I doub't you are going to make much money. An example of a targeted website is a site about the xbox promoted to gamers and monetized with ads for xbox cheats or xbox games. Simple enough isn't it?
Here are just a few examples of what can be done...The
cardio twister store site is specifically going after this one product, the cardio twister. The
Davinci Kalani Crib site is targeting parents, and more specifically a specific baby crib. Try to make your webpage very targeted with a product model like this place has done with the
Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor the idea becomes alot more clear.
