Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue" book tour will swing thru Washington County this month, part of a three-week promotional trip that avoids some of the major book-buying markets.
Sarah Palin will stop Nov. 21 at Sam's Club in the Trinity Point development in South Strabane to pump her autobiography'Going Rogue', which is booked to hit shelves Nov. Seventeen, HarperCollins spokeswoman Annie Weiss announced. A store manager dropped comment.
'We have a good Republican base in this area, and I believe she'll be very well received,' expounded Tom Moore, 69, a Republican who is the supervisors chairman in South Strabane, home to about eight thousand people.
No tour stops are planned in Seattle, San Francisco, Philadelphia, L. A. and other major towns and book-buying communities that are standard for writers on the road, but where the citizens have a tendency to be left wingers.
'I've decided to travel to towns outside of the typical book tour venues, and I am hoping to cover the maximum amount of the country as I can,' Sarah Palin wrote on her Facebook page.
The Sarah Palin's
Going Rogue Book tour includes Grand falls, Mich. ; Noblesville, Ind. ; Rochester, N.Y. ; Cincinnati ; Columbus, Ohio ; Roanoke, Va. ; the division post in Fort Bragg, N.C. ; the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. ; Orlando, Fla. ; and Albuquerque, N.M.
Sarah Palin's planned stop at the Sam's Club store in South Strabane won't be her first trip to Washington County.
Sarah Palin went there on her first full day as the presumptive vice presidential nominee in August 2008. Sarah Palin, then the Alaska governor, appeared with GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain at Washington's Consol Energy Park for a campaign rally that attracted thousands of supporters.
Sonia Stopperich, 2nd vice chair of the Washington County Republican Party, recounted people still talk fondly about that event, and Sarah Palin, generally.
'I still hear from Republicans and just regular voters that ... Still look up to her and see her as a workable voice for the republican party. I believe there will be a good turnout,' Stopperich announced.
Moore agreed. 'I know I would like to see her,' he claimed.
'She'll be the largest person to roll thru here in latest memory. There has not been anybody I might consider of her stature for quite some time. I do not believe she is's presidential material, although I suspect she has a definite place in public life and most likely in higher office, presumably in the way of the Senate or House.'.
Going Rogue traces one ordinary voter's unusual journey and donates Sarah Palin's vision of a way forward for America and her boundless hope in the greatest country on earth.
