What I was looking for: I just traded my 1st gen iPhone for a 3G phone. I work in the hospital wearing scrubs, so I would put my phone in my pocket. I have an 8 gb 3G iphone w/ virtually no photos, about a gig of music, 3 gigs of video and a gig of apps. It takes 8 hours plus to sync since using 3.0. After the first sync, a daily sync only takes 20 to 30 min, with no change in music, video, photos or apps. I read a post about deleting back-up and starting over. Not working. I plugged my iPhone into my computer to install the newest update. When I plugged it in the battery life was low and for some reason my computer was draining the battery. During the backup process my phone died and a picture showed up on the screen of the iTunes logo in the middle and a USB plug going into the logo. I have had my iPhone for about 14 months. Bought it in South Africa, where all iPhones are sold as legally unlocked. so last week i updated my iphone 3G to firmware 3.1.2, and for a few days everything was fine. Then all of a sudden my iphone stopped connecting to wifi. Now from what ive read there have been several issues similar to this, in which the iphone completely stops detecting wifi (which could mean a malfunctioning wifi antenna), however, in my case the phone still finds networks. I washed my iPhone by accident is the cloths washer. Unlike others I have had no luck getting it working. I took it apart 100% and dried it out very well right after. I can not get it to work at all and pretty much figured its toast. But I decided to take battery voltage readings. On the terminals that contact the mobo I get just .02 volts.
