Sent to you via Google Reader Apple Expects Google Voice App Developers To Pay Refunds Out of Pocket [Apple] Now this is ridiculous. Not only did Apple pull all the unofficial Google Voice apps out of the App Store for an absurd reason, now they expect the developers of those apps to fund refunds out of their own pockets. One of the developers, as you remember, found out that their app had been pulled only when a user emailed them to ask the app wasn't available for purchase. Then, they... Read Full Story

Or copy it to iDisk and use the new App - the iPhone can play AVI - I use

Jailbreaking has been around for quite some time, but it has recently seen a upswing in popularity. According to a study from Pinch Media, about 8.43% of iPhone users have jailbroken their iPhones, compared to 91.57% of users who have not jailbroken their iPhones that number seens quite small. But when you think of the millions of iPhones that have been sold, that 8.43% starts to add up, and may be a growing concern for Apple. Last week the number was a mere 8%, so that is a significant leap... Read Full Story
Handbreak is the application. Also check, as there might be a solution to play those files directly.

I originally signed up with Vonage because it was inexpensive and it gave me unlimited calls to France (and other countries) where all my friends and family still are. As my fiance and I are planning our one-year trip around the globe, I started looking into getting Vonage on my iPhone so I can make calls from my iPhone, either over 3G or wifi, using my Vonage plan.
There are many reports showing that Vonage is currently working on an iPhone app but it’s probably not going to happen anytime... Read Full Story
Hello Dick, I just hit "App Store" on the iPhone and downloaded a free app at will. Safari didn't even open. The free app is called "TuneWiki" and links to radio stations - I am one of the few people left on earth who like radio, and this app lets me listen to several stations all over the planet. Quite nice, in fact. Thanks for making me download it, I think it's a keeper. On Wed, 22 Jul 2009 19:07:46 -0500 GMT (23/Jul/09, 7:07 AM +0700 GMT), recmsoj@onlineok.com wrote: > Has anyone had... Apple published Thursday a support article cautioning users about jailbreaking the iPhone (as well as other Apple handheld audio devices).
Unlike the company’s recent filing to U.S. Copyright Office that suggested that jailbreaking the iPhone might pose a national threat and be the cause of AT&T’s unreliable service, the article states that “customers who have installed software that makes these modifications have encountered numerous problems in the operation of... Hello Apple-iphone, I have an iPhone 3G, with 3.0 software. When I try to pair the headphone, it works well. I can also hear the other party well, but they don't hear me well, which is a problem in communication. The headphone is a Nokia, but that shoudn't matter, as any brand will use the Bluetooth protocol, I would think. Another important functionality I need from Bluetooth is thethering: I put the phone near the the laptop, and I connnect to the internet on the laptop by using a dial... Read Full Story
Sid, Jailbreaking and Unlocking are two very different things, although the two newest software unlocks require that you jail break first in order to use them. Also note, that this is (in the US) is only going to work if she has T-Mobile instead of AT&T and then she will only be able to use EDGE level speeds so it really doesn't matter if you get her a 1st Gen or 3G other than the BT & GPS enhancements.
