Jake Peavy's injured right ankle was re-examined Tuesday, and the San Diego Padres ace could get his protective boot off in about two weeks. Peavy, the 2007 NL Cy Young Award winner, has been on the disabled list since June 13 with a strained tendon. He was injured running the bases against the Chicago Cubs in late May. Manager Bud Black said if Peavy continues to heal at the same rate he should get the boot off in about two weeks and began a rehabilitation program. Just kidding. Kinda. Jake Peavy , who doesn't much care for pitching in a San Diego uni, will be out of commission for at least a month now after hurting his ankle. This means we might not see any action from the Padres ace until after the All-Star break. The San Diego Padres are going to be without Jake Peavy for at least a month due to his injured ankle, according to the Associated Press .
