Lapel pins are the pins that we attach to our dresses. It starts from a volunteer in a function to a cadet or general in an army. Lapel pins have been used since old times, and since then they have just got better in their significance. Lapel pins also on some places, are regarded as identification factors in many organizations. But the process involved in making these lapel pins is far more complex than wearing it. Due to the increasing demand of uniqueness in the market today, Lapel pins are available in as much variety as clothes and footwear. The processes involve 5 prominent steps while making lapel pins. They are: 1) Cloisonné: - It is a hard covering of enamel like substance which is produced from a piece or sheet of smooth copper. Then pieces are stamped and taken of and are then heated at a very high temperature up to 1000 degree Celsius. Then when taken out, they are cooled after sometime making the surface tensile as well as smooth. 2) The Soft Enamel: - This is one of the optional processes involved and is used just to provide an appearance like a photo printed on Lapel pin. This process is done as the Cloisonné. 3) Photo Etched: - First of all this is a different process from the Soft Enamel. It is done to imprint the photo or design on the lapel pin chemically whereas the soft enamel is used to provide a digital effect to the imprinted photo. 4) Color Process: - This process is one of the most important and easy processes. It simply provides color to the lapel pin and makes it look beautiful. So the next time you see a person wearing a lapel pin, admire it because of the hard work that it has gone through.
