Lewisham Homesearch - FAQs
Do I have to do this myself?
No, you can ask a relative or a friend to do this for you. Make sure that you give them your housing application number and surname, as they'll need this with them to make a request for you.
Do I have to get my requests in on Thursday?
Property requests are not looked at on a first come, first served first basis. As long as you have your requests recorded by the end of Sunday, they will be considered at the same time as everyone else's that week.
Do I have a time limit?
If the Council or housing association has stipulated that you must be rehoused within a deadline, or if you're only entitled to one offer of any suitable property anywhere in the borough, then Lewisham Homesearch will not change that. But for a period of six months, you'll get the chance to choose a property for yourself. If you haven’t taken the opportunity within that time, then you'll be made an offer as soon as a suitable property becomes available.
Who do I notify if I have any changes in my circumstances?
If there are any errors on your application, or if you need to update any part of it, then contact your local housing office to do this.
