Well Mr Lennon – did Motherwell take a dive against Celtic today by losing 4-0, just like you disgracefully seemed to claim that Hearts did against Rangers last week ?
Oh and by the way, your “emotional” address at Parkhead after the match was as nauseating a display of disingenuous, smug, arrogant, supercillious, self-righteous, shallow selective outrage as has been seen for quite some time. And no chance of you acknowledging Rangers as SPL Champions of course – and as for any hope that... Read Full Story

Thank goodness Andrew Sentance (pictured above) leaves the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) in May. His shrill, ill-timed and frankly disrespectful selective arguments today to raise interest rates seem more like a fit of pique as he throws his toys out of the pram because he hasn’t got his way, having so far failed to convince his fellow MPC members of the need to raise rates, than reasoned economic argument.
He doesn’t mention rising unemployment, spending cuts, lack of... Read Full Story

Pictured above is a rather glum UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne. He’s just presided over a potential return to recession as UK growth between last October and December fell by 0.5%, which George is rather quaintly blaming on the weather. But I’m sorry - the Coalition government is going to need some more impressive news management than that to deflect attention away from this lot – blaming the snow just won’t do. How about a heightened terror alert – or a small war – or of... Read Full Story

The “powers that be”, most notably the United States, want to suppress freedom of speech and information by destroying Wikileaks. This blog stands unreservedly behind the right of Wikileaks to publish and the concept of continuing freedom and exchange of ideas, culture, and expression through the internet. The bullying US government and its browbeaten “supporters” have no mandate or right to suppress or censor the internet and it’s supremely ironic that the “Land of the Free” is adopting... Britain has been regaled with news of an impending royal wedding. Prince William and Kate Middleton (pair pictured above) are due to tie the knot next year. And in a nauseating attempt to inject some maudlin sentimentality into the proceedings, the Prince even presented his new fiancee with his Mother’s old engagement ring. It figures I suppose - she already seems slightly anorexic and overwhelmed so the cap fits – and by the time that hideous family are finished with her, she’ll be happy to... Read Full Story

On November 10th 2008 this blog’s daily entry was headed “Remembrance and the shame of Celtic Football Club”. It’s sad to have to report that 2 years on, the headline needs repeating. Last weekend Celtic supporters unfurled various banners describing poppies as “bloodstained” . Or, as can be seen from the above photo, whichever nutter actually prepared the banner in question missed out the “D” – perhaps an eloquent commentary on his mentality. Celtic have apologised and launched an... Read Full Story

In the UK the Coalition government’s plans for welfare reform have been attacked by Dr Rowan Williams (pictured above), the Archbishop of Canterbury. The head of the Church of England claimed that they could plunge the unemployed into “a downward spiral of uncertainty, even despair”. In a surprise intervention Dr Williams also said that the government’s plans to force some people to work in return for unemployment benefits were unfair and could cause “a great problem”. Ian Duncan Smith... Read Full Story

Pictured above is US President Barack Obama, contemplating changed circumstances after the Democrats got shafted in the American mid-term elections. No doubt he faces difficult times ahead, with the House of Representatives now ranged against him and the Democrat’s Senate majority now wafer thin. And his situation I suppose was predictable – you can chant: ”Yes we can” until you’re blue in the face but that won’t solve economic problems overnight. But I wonder if the President’s glum... Pictured above is an artist’s impression of UK female Muslim student Roshonara Choudhry, a rather pathetic, surly little specimen who was yesterday convicted of the attempted murder of MP Stephen Timms. In stabbing Mr Timms as “punishment” for his support of the invasion of Iraq – apparently the notion of exercising her right to vote against British foreign policy at a general election didn’t strike a chord with her Muslim sensibilities, though attempting murder did – Ms Choudhry becomes...
