Fantasy Sports are games where fantasy owners build teams that compete against other fantasy owners based on the statistics of players of a professional sport. Each formed league will have a point system to compile these stats and give each fantasy team a score. Most leagues have head to head match ups each week, and have a playoff system to determine a winner. It is estimated that over 35 million people have played fantasy sports at one time. Most who engage in this hobby will be hooked for life.
Fantasy Football is the most common type of Fantasy sport played, with Fantasy baseball and basketball gaining popularity as well. Leagues can be formed through Yahoo!, ESPN and CBS Sportsline.
