Facebook musings
There’s a lot of political discussion over at Facebook, just like there is in any social medium or gathering. Personally, I voted in an unofficial poll just this morning about whether Political Correctness has gone too far in the U.S.Of course it has. As I wrote in my comment, in my opinion: “Political correctness is and has been a new form of fascism. It goes against the concept of freedom of speech to constantly have to monitor everything you say just to avoid offending somebody else's oh-s... Read Full Story

Another musical note
I really shouldn’t have, but I bought and downloaded a new album from iTunes the other day. I have bills to catch up on, and all kinds of stuff like that, but it’s been over two years since I’ve bought anything fun for myself, and besides, it’s the newest release from Trans-Siberian Orchestra in about 5 years or so.Night CastleAs I said, I downloaded the album, so I can only guess, but I’d think that coming in at 26 tracks, it would have to be a double CD in the stores. This is their fifth al... Read Full Story

A change of pace
Looking back at my last few entries, I’ve noticed that they’ve been a bit gloomy and doomy if not outright depressing. Well, maybe they’re not THAT bad, but they still give the impression that I’m not a happy camper. Hopefully that will change with this little piece. So, while Bella sleeps at my feet and waits for me to go to bed, I’ll relate a little anecdote about my high school days . . .Attack of the Pizza MonsterAs you all know and remember well, high school is divided into cliques. Morpheus, you are hard to deal with
I really wish I knew what my problem is as far as sleep is concerned.Maybe I’m too worried about it?I managed to nap a bit on Sunday, but not much. Sunday night was completely sleepless again, until sometime late Monday morning. I ended up blowing all of Monday by sleeping until it was time to go to work at 1700. Now my circadian rhythms are all off-beat; I got home last night about 2345, and haven’t slept yet. I just lay in bed for 4-4 ½ hours until I gave up again, and here I sit. I have a ... Morpheus, please take me
I wish I wasn’t writing this right now.All I want is to be in my bed, fast asleep. Or slowly asleep, which is the usual case. But, I tried that, and it didn’t work. I went to bed somewhere around the midnight hour, and proceeded to stare at the ceiling for about three hours or so. I finally gave up and plopped myself back down in front of this technological nightmare that I refer to as my computer.Don’t misunderstand; I have no problems working a computer. It’s just that this one is a few year... Read Full Story
I've been thinking
Who just yelled, “Look out! He’s thinking?”Anyway, I’ve been thinking about this on and off since yesterday, and I’m getting a bit worried about myself. It’s a political thing, which I swore I wouldn’t do back when I first started this blog, yet I keep getting drawn back to it occasionally.I peruse Facebook quite a bit, as do many others, I’m sure. Yesterday, two people in my contact list made posts about a poll in which they participated, titled “Should highway exits and traffic signs be in ... Read Full Story
The new job
Sitting here waiting for the coffee to brew, as always. Why I insist on drinking it every morning is beyond me, considering I am completely immune to the “wake-me-up” effects of caffeine. I just like it I guess.Almost finished with my second week at the current job; it’s going well. It’s only 5 hours per day, but it’s boring enough to feel like 17. Don’t get me wrong; I’m grateful to have the job, but going around cleaning and disinfecting desks and phones just isn’t the most mentally stimula... Read Full Story
