The Church In Wales’ View of Ordination (sort of)
I needed to do this as a quick presentation for a Class, so I thought I’d post it here for people who may be looking for a quick over-view. Church In Wales’ View of Ordination Anglican View of Ordination There are three main orders in the Anglican Church, two of which a person is traditionally ordained into, and a third to which one is consecrated, though the wording has changed a few times over the history of the Anglican Church. The first order to which a person is ordained is t... Read Full Story

Birch – Updated
For those of you that have been reading this blog a while, you may have noticed the occasional addition of a Zip file called “Birch”. This is the IRC client that I have been writing, and re-writing for a very, very long time. I have been writing in Java mostly as a way of keeping my hand in since I stopped being a System Administrator. It is still very much in it’s infancy. It does multiple-windows, has a picture on the desktop (that you can choose) and you can also change ... Read Full Story
Fridge Magnet
Today I was given a Fridge Magnet. It’s something that’s going to go in my “Rainy Days and Mondays” file. It was the simplest of gifts, yet the story behind it was… well, huge. Let me start somewhere that could be thought of as the Begining. Last Week, I preached a Sermon. It was a simple Sermon, about taking time to enjoy the Peace of the Lord. It was a sermon that said that the next time your somewhere, just taking a look at creation, take some time to rest on... Read Full Story
The Bible, Explained by 4Chan
Sometimes you come across some wonderful views of the Bible. Things like the “Top Shelf” Nature of it, or some-one coming up with an brief, but surprisingly accurate (from a certain point of view) praise of the Bible. Jan Moir : Can you believe it?
As you know by now, Jan Moir, a columnist of the Daily Mail has written a hateful article on the death of Stephen Gately. She insinuates that being Gay is what caused his tragic death. I figured there was no point putting up something as the news broke, ever man and his cyberpet was doing that. I figured that I’d wait to see if time would calm me down, so that I didn’t publish a post full of spitting bile. It has now been nearly 7 hours since I found out, and I’m still angr... A commentry on “I am the Truth, the Way, and the Life”
Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6, NRSV This is one of those lines that quite annoyes us liberals. It seems to portray a very narrow-minded view of God, and not one that sits quite happily with our view. Indeed, it was a topic of some small discussion at a lecture last Friday. I personally have been struggling with this statement, so often used by the American Evangelical Conservatives to prove that those t... Read Full Story
First Time
The black van pulled up to the farm house. James leaned forward to look at it, past Marcus, the driver. “You know, in all those films, that would be a wooden house, not a think stone walled house, with doors that look so sturdy you need a battering ram to get through them” “Dem’s de breaks man” “So, into the breach then” “Yup” “How do we know that it’ll still be in there” “we don’t” James looked at his c... The Office
Susan Webster sat on her packing boxes, and looked around her now-packed house. She had lived there in a not-so happy marriage with her Husband for the past 20 years. She’s thought they were doing okay. The talking had slowed down, and he had started spending more time at work, but that was normal for a couple that had been together that long. At least, she had thought it had been. She’s resigned from her job to be a housewife. She’d expected that there would be kids, but he... Read Full Story
