As you read this we are just beginning our Bolivian journey. We arrived in La Paz tonight, and we will fly to Cochabamba early tomorrow morning. Tomorrow evening I will post my  thoughts and stories from Day 1, but tonight I would like to share the prayer I found myself writing during my Friday morning time with the Lord. Prayer for the Journey: Father, My stomach is all aflutter. I desperately want to serve and glorify You with all that I am. Yet this morning "all that I am" seems... Read Full Story
Did God Really Say?

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say?" Genesis 3:1 In Ecclesiastes 1:9 Solomon wrote these words: What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. As 21st Century believers in Christ we still consistently hear the whispered words of the enemy, "Did God really say?" Then we: Question Talk amongst ourselves Take polls Ponder Analyze... Just Another Black Sheep

This is Rev's mug. It was given to him years ago by a member of our church. She laughed so hard when she handed it to him and told him, "You are the black sheep."  He didn't argue with her. He has always thought of himself as just another member of the flock. An attitude that I have always loved about him, especially because it has freed me to be one of the flock as well rather than the "pastor's wife."  Not that I don't love being a pastor's wife. I do. I just don't like to have to try... Read Full Story

Rev asked me last night if I'm "a little wound up?" That is his gentle way of telling me that I'm talking and talking and talking and talking. Surprise! That's what I do when I am excited. I am excited! Things are falling into place. My passport and visa have arrived. For my facebook friends who listened to my whining, I ordered a pair of shoes on-line and they arrived today. (Teva Westwater 2) Cute and comfortable, and they will work with pants or skirts. Woo Hoo! I am starting to fill... Read Full Story

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen. Not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else. ~C.S.Lewis Christianity = the religion founded on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, based on the Bible as Sacred Scripture. Christians are simply faithful followers of Jesus. Those who have placed their faith and trust in Jesus as their crucified and risen Savior, and who respond with love for God and others as they desire to obey God's will as it is... Read Full Story
Feed My Lambs

A number of years ago following a very painful loss, I woke up one morning with these words of Jesus running through my mind: "Do you love me more than these?" John 21:15 Like Peter, I was deeply disappointed with myself over previous words and attitudes as I replied, "Yes, Lord, You know that I love You." No words of rejection. No judgment or condemnation. No anger. No disappointment. Just three short words, "Feed my lambs." Forgiveness! Assurance! Love! Use the past to bless the... Read Full Story
A “Vision” via Email

I am excited to be sharing Rev's first guest post at CMB. I'm hoping it will be the first of many. --------------------------- It doesn’t surprise me in the least that Debbie said “yes” to going to Cochabamba, Bolivia with World Vision.  She loves children.  What shocked me is that she said “yes” immediately . My ever cautious, protective side spoke:  “Don’t you want to sleep on it for another night?  Or, a week or month of nights?” Debbie said it wasn’t necessary.  She knew the Lord... Read Full Story

Have you ever noticed that some blessings are anticipated and others happen as complete surprises? That pretty much sums up this week's awesome blessings. One I have had on the calendar for several weeks. I was so excited! I couldn't wait! The other, well it was unexpected . . . out of the blue. The funny thing is that both are truly awesome blessings. I'm glad I didn't miss the surprise while I was anxiously waiting with anticipation. We can do that can't we? Like a child waiting for... Read Full Story

I am busily preparing for our trip to Bolivia. Planning what I am going to pack. Still shopping for shoes and a suitcase. Imagining what I will experience, and hoping our group leader was kidding when he talked about some of the foods we will be eating. Ha. Trying to learn more about the country of Bolivia and World Vision.  As often happens when I am wandering the web, my search led me to YouTube where I found myself watching this great video. What do Veggie Tales and World... Read Full Story
