Bonnie Boots is one of the "good guys" of internet marketing. In a sea of scum buckets who are only out to separate you from your money in as slick a way as possible (and you KNOW who those people are if you hang out in IM circles very much) Bonnie's honest income ethic shines like the North Star on a cold, clear night. You don't have to read very much of her work to get this gem of information, but once you start reading, you'll want to read everything she writes. I was... Read Full Story

Tim was born with a chromosomal abnormality called XYY syndrome, a deep brain seizure disorder, and a brain injury caused by birth trauma. It has been a long hard journey for us, but this year is marking many milestones. He is living with his sister in an apartment, and so far the situation is better for all concerned.
We celebrated Tim's 31st birthday at the Olive Garden - he wanted a "grown up birthday, not one for a little kid." So we compromised ... an adult dinner with an adult beverage... Read Full Story

Need a nice, light read for a lazy day in the hammock or something that won't give you nightmares if you read it right before going to sleep? Last Mango in Texas is exactly that. I zipped through it in a single evening - it's only 247 pages, and the story moves quickly.
The protagonist is a young man from an eccentric family, and the story revolves around his life during his college years. It's a love story, an adventure story, and a mystery all rolled into one.
I didn't realize that this a... Read Full Story

Fascinating and boring at the same time, this book is like sitting down with Gordon Ramsay and being forced to listen to his entire life's story without being able to interrupt or to ask questions. I believe Gordon actually wrote every word himself, and I sincerely doubt the editors at HarperEntertainment did much of anything to shape this narrative. If they did, they certainly were unobtrusive, because Gordon's voice is very clear all the way through, and yes, he really does use the F word .... Read Full Story

Reading Joy Daymon's "How To Survive Tough Times" is very much like sitting at the kitchen table with a wise older woman, and listening to her try to tell you everything she's learned over a lifetime on a number of subjects. There IS a lot of really USEFUL information in it, but the presentation leaves much to be desired. Still, the value of the info far exceeds the price of paying attention, and I was surprised that I learned a few things, myself.
This is a book to buy and use highlighters ... Read Full Story

This is a nice, relatively light mystery chock full of knitting and crochet references with a couple of choice recipes thrown in for good measure. Think of this story as a Nancy Drew mystery for grown up girls who enjoy fiber arts.
Set in the mountains of Colorado, this story involves a group of friends who interact on a daily basis all of whom have some involvement with a cozy little yarn shop. While this is a murder mystery, it doesn't horrify you with graphic descriptions of blood, guts, ... Read Full Story

This is the coolest little gadget I've seen in years - talk about an easy networking solution!
So you have, no doubt, gone to events where you exchanged a ton of business cards - that's pretty cool, but then you have to key in all that information, right? Enter the Poken.
It's a cute little keychain s... Read Full Story

Poken are neat little gadgets that are incredibly useful at networking events!
Taking the place of business cards, a poken is a cute little keychain sized gadget that looks a bit like Japanese Cartoons, but hides a USB fitting AND has Near Field Communication technology to allow the exchange of online social networking data! How COOL is THAT?
There are many characters to choose from - this is about the Ninja Poken. If you like martial arts, this just might be your favorite Poken.

Most of our friends and family are located too far away to get together for grins and giggles and birthday cake, so I got the idea that a multi-media birthday celebration might be possible through a Squidoo lens.
Join me in wishing Bob the happiest birthday ever; until next year's, that is.

Who doesn't remember their first taste of cotton candy? Remember how it felt sort of crackly, was super sweet, and then just disappeared? Remember how soft and fluffy it looked, like a cloud on a stick?
Everyone's favorite concessions or carnival food, "floss" as it's known in the industry, is one hot selling item with a huge profit margin. No wonder so many non-profit agencies are discovering that food concessions with professional "carnie" equipment make a lot of sense ... and not just cen... Read Full Story
