Here's Fall ~ Scarecrows, Fairies, and Witches Included.
It's Fall all over the country, but it's really Fall here in New England it seems. I say that because it's sort of our last hurrah until about the end of March when the leaves will start to bud out again. Over the Winter it gets increasingly bleaker and grayer until you really feel like a trip south is the only thing that will save you from the dull-drums. I say that as a person who grew up in an area where it never dropped below 45 degrees at the coldest time of year.
But for now, we have so many leaves and crazy gorgeous color that it is just impossible not to run around everywhere snapping photos of every bit of orange, yellow and maroon that you can find so that you have evidence that it is indeed a very colorful place most of the time.
Essex, a town near me, was having a very interesting scarecrow decorating festival over the weekend - they have it every year but this time they affixed the entries high above the street on lamp posts - which was a very cool effect in most cases. Here are a few of my favorites. A spooky pumpkin above, a witch and a crazy fairy below. Then a skeleton waited to pedestrians at the foot of the street.
I also took a fair amount of images of homes and storefronts in Essex that I really love - see the shots here>>
