Why You Really Should Start a Blog

You need a blog for several reasons:

1. Drive targeted traffic to your website.
2. Position yourself as an expert and the "go to" person in your industry or field.
3. You can make some money and sell ad space on your blog.

By the way, did you know that if you don't have a website yet (but you are working on getting one - right?), you can use a blog to establish your online presence.  There are several free services you can use, Blogger.com (Google product), LiveJournal.com and WordPress.com.

Another option is that if you are a member of a social networking website such as one of the many Ning communities, you can start a regular blog there.  Some social networking sites such as Facebook will allow you to link to your regular blog. 

Whatever you do, just start building your online presence.  If you already have a website, start your blog and post regularly.
