There’ve been persistent rumours for, ooh, ages that Microsoft would be making, at some point, their own mobile phone, under their ‘Pink’ initiative. However, things have got a bit more concrete, today, with pictures and a teeny bit of info being leaked, not about one phone, but about two Microsoft-branded phones.
And according to Gizmodo, they have silly names. Say hello to the Turtle and the Pure.
It’s being stated that these two oddly-monikered mobiles are the moder... Read Full Story
Woohoo! We only had to wait four months after the Americans got it (you lucky, lucky bleeders, you), but it’s finally hitting the shelves!
Yup, as reported by our own news section, O2 have announced the official release date for the Palm Pre, and, as you can probably infer from the title of this blog post, it’s going to be going on sale on October 16th. Three weeks tomorrow, the day after my birthday, you can finally get your hands on the Palm Pre.
Which means we now get to see wh... Read Full Story
Hmmm, it seems the news that i-mate had shuffled off this mortal coil may have been a bit premature. You may remember that I did a blog post about it last week, y’know, since it was being reported that i-mate had shut up shop, and laid off its entire workforce in the Dubai office.
Well, like I say, it now turns out that viewpoint may have been a bit premature, according to ArabianBusiness. The company, it seems, aren’t as dead as reports suggested.
The plot thickens.
It also turns... Read Full Story
Now, here’s an interesting story, from the pages of IntoMobile, which will help quantify why Orange and T-Mobile have gotten involved in this massive merger-y joint venture thing that everyone’s talking about. Yup, it’s time to talk cash, and specifically, how much money they’ll be saving.
First up, though, let’s talk about the not-quite-so-positive-as-the-rest-of-this-blog-post bit, the closing of 120 Orange and T-Mobile shops up and down the country.
Y’se... Read Full Story
A tip of the hat, first of all, to SteveTheGeek, who spotted this story before me, and commented on the Samsung blog post I did yesterday. Ta for the heads-up, dude!
When you look at the modern smartphone world, there are myriad different smartphone operating systems on display (well, alright, let’s not go overboard, there’s about six). There’s definitely a nice diversity of interfaces out there, and a whole load of platforms for them to run on. Well, according to GSMArena,... Read Full Story
Last week, I ran a blog post about Sony Ericsson’s upcoming music technology, that they were saying would change the way you listen to music forever. They didn’t, though, specify exactly what that technology might actually be.
Well, no they have, and it’s fair to say that no-one predicted what it would be.
Y’see, what they’ve now come out with, according to the Sony Ericsson press release, is the world’s first motion-sensitive headset, that which also sense... Read Full Story
As things stand right now, in the mobile world, the crown for the most powerful processor around goes to the Snapdragon chip, made by Qualcomm. You know the one. It’s that 1GHz monster used in the Toshiba TG01, and the upcoming HTC Leo/Touch HD2/whatever it ends up being called. It’s really rather powerful.
However, it looks like it ain’t gonna be staying at the top of the heap for much longer, because according to BGR, Samsung have announced a whole bevy of chips that, when... Read Full Story
Ooh, a couple of bits of possibly exciting news (well, one’s definitely exciting, the other, er, might not be) for all Sony Ericsson fans today. Hmmm, I vote we start with the one that might not be.
Y’see, some photos have appeared on Mobile Nova (sorry for the link being in German), which claim to be live shots of the rumoured Sony Ericsson X3, the Swedish/Japanese manufacturer’s first Android phone. I say ‘claim to be’, because, well, I’m not at all convi... Read Full Story
Over the past few days, rumours have been popping up about the upcoming HTC Leo, and what name it might actually go on sale under. So far, the most prevalent possibility has been “Pro.Three”, but a new rumour’s appeared today, which may well cast doubt on that.
It may also make m’good buddy Matt happy, because according to MobileTechWorld, it may actually be the HTC Touch HD2…
If that rumour turns out to be true, then I know for a fact Matt will be a happy bunny,... Read Full Story
Ok, this is a little unorthodox. I am writing this blog post at 8.15pm on a Friday night, instead of going out on the town. But I simply cannot wait until Monday to do it. I may well burst in sheer excitement if I wait, because tonight, and I’ve literally just finished watching it, I have seen the single greatest cinematic masterpiece ever conceived in the entire history of humanity.
Tonight, folks, I have seen Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus…
And it had, in one scene, someone in ... Read Full Story
