My Belated Remembrance Day Post…
I watched the movie Passchendaele for the first time today. It was an ok movie, but what struck me the most was the final scene. Not for the overly dramatic “kid on a cross” moment, but for the fighting scene, one man against another. We’ve seen this a thousand times in movies. One man fights another, and you can’t even distinguish who’s on what side. At the end of the day, both these men are honorable (or not), probably have a wife waiting for them back home, a ... Are computer viruses a thing of the past?
Living in North America, all i hear from local canadian news and US news is the number of H1N1 cases, and how the organization to get people vaccinated is terrible. Today, my mind wanders to another type of virus. Remember computer viruses? Remember receiving emails that had huge warnings about not reading this or that file? Remember news coverage on companies having all their computers crash. Remember the Y2K virus? Remember discussing which anti-virus software was the best, McAfee, Norton&#... Read Full Story

Which country has the best healthcare system? Tell me what you think
Being a citizen of the world, I’ve lived in many countries and experienced many healthcare systems. I THINK I know which system i think is best from those systems i’ve experienced, but I really want to ask those of you out there: what country do you live in, and what do you like about your healthcare system? What don’t you like? What do you think other countries can learn from your country? I believe that it IS possible to have healthcare for all. I don’t think that mon... Read Full Story

Tavern on the Square Restaurant Review
Four of us went to the Tavern on the Square in Westmount, Montreal. To start with, this is the perfect location for this high-end bistro style restaurant. It’s classy and chic, friendly, very lively. I feel in love with the interior, it was visually soooo pleasing. The right lighting, nice art, great floral arrangements, a funky martini bar, a quaint quiet couch waiting area, tables at different levels, a beautiful floor-to-ceiling wooden wine “cellar”. When I had called at ... Read Full Story

Belated film review: The Ugly Truth
I guess if i’m reviewing a movie 2 months after seeing it, means it was memorable, eh? Well, that’s what i think of The Ugly Truth. A seemingly cute, romantic comedy, i fee like it left me with some one-liners that, as a girl, are well worth remembering. ok, so the acting was nothing transcending, but, having said that, i will give katherine heigl credit for the orgasm scene. Not quite as classic as the Meg Ryan / Billy Crystal “When Harry Met Sally” one, but still, a ... Read Full Story

About my state of mind
Well, it’s been four months since my last post (to the day, how crazy is that?). And for a change, i’m not gonna apologize. Believe it or not, I haven’t visited my blog in a couple months, and so, the good news is, when i decided to visit it today, i remembered how much i loved it. Narcissistic? Maybe, but hey, if i’m not gonna show my blog some lovin’, why should i expect anyone else to? I love my blog because it’s 100% reflective of me, it has just the ri... Read Full Story
