Armed Forces Day 1950 - 2009

Armed Forces Day is observed in the U.S.A. on May 16, 2009. U.S. President Harry S. Truman proclaimed the first Armed Forces Day to be observed on May 20, 1950.

What a great way to start off the decade. I believe that the official proclamation says it all. I have included it here (two pages) and clicking on each will open a large-size view:
