This mod is designed to use the GS1000 salad bowl (circumaural) pads for the SR325is . Unadulterated the pads (whilst giving better sound stage and being more comfortable) do decrease bass response because the same sized driver is being employed in a larger space walled by a greater amount of non reflective acoustic foam.
