Beliefs & Demonstrations, Part 2
We’ve talked about how and why we created the beliefs that set the parameters for our experience.
Now back to what we’re demonstrating. Every experience is a demonstration of what we believe. If we look straight at the conditions we create, we can see those beliefs. At first, it can be uncomfortable to recognize a belief that you thought you cleared, or that you know is just not true. But if it’s showing up in your life, you still believe it on a deeper level. Ask yourself why you believe it. Ask where the belief comes from. Most likely, those questions will bring up a lot of memories of experiences that validate the belief. Here’s the thing; the experiences were created by us to establish the belief.
One of the biggest ones for me is the belief in need. It comes from early , and lifetime, experiences of basic needs not being met. The experiences were very powerful, and painful. Most people can probably relate to the experience of need in there lives today, but those experiences are based on our belief in need, in not having our needs met. Where did that originate? At it’s deepest level, the core belief is separation, but it will help us to get to the beliefs we created with our early experiences.
The next step is to ask yourself what gift the belief gives you. How does it benefit you? What has been possible for you to experience and learn because of that belief? How does it serve your higher purpose for this life? When you find those answers, you’ll have the gift from your belief in your hands. Accept the gifts, and you can release the belief. You’ll be able to see that the belief is no longer needed. Then you can release it knowing that you’re done with it. You’re no longer fighting against an unseen enemy. You’re letting go of what you’re done with.
If you have an awareness of your Higher Self or Spirit, you can direct your questions to that aspect of All that You Are. When I can’t get clarity on something, I ask Spirit. Sometimes the answers come right away, sometimes later when my attention has turned to something else. What seems to work best for me is opening a blank Word document and typing out my question. I keep my fingers over the keyboard and just type what ever comes through. It’s important for me to type without thinking about the message so I don’t filter it through my current level of understanding. I continue asking questions in this way until I feel that I understand the answers, or until they stop flowing.
I’ve found a lot of limiting beliefs this way, and where they came from. I’m making the choice on a daily basis to release these beliefs and live from the truth of who I am. It was actually the beginning of 2009 when I first became willing to live from the highest truth of who I am. What I didn’t realize at the time is that when we make such a commitment, all beliefs that stand in opposition to it come to the surface. I didn’t know what was going on at first. I thought that just making the commitment to live my purpose from my highest truth would change my life. It did, but not in the ways I expected. There were still a lot of things in me that I hadn’t looked at and accepted.
In the next post, we’ll talk about accepting all that we are and all that we’ve created in our lives. It’s a simple concept, but a not-so-simple process.
