Baby Bear is full term! His lungs are mature and he's ready to enter the wonderful world outside my womb. I hope he doesn't decide to come before Grammy Pat arrives. I'll have a talk with him and see how well he listens. Surely, he can hang out in my belly another week. Baby Bear weighs around 6 1/2 pounds and is over 19 inches long. Dear Darling got the biggest kick out of feeling what must've been Baby Bear's foot last night. It's truly amazing to see bulges pop up in various areas of my... Read Full Story
Finding out Gender
We decided not to find out the baby's gender during my first pregnancy. To us, this was the last "Great Surprise" that anyone could have. We spent the next several months dreaming about our baby and wondering what this little person would be like. Boy, did this cause a stir. Everyone wanted to know the baby's gender and just couldn't understand why we wouldn't find out. It was as if we were intentionally torturing them. We heard ridiculous things such as "You need to know so that you can... Read Full Story
Get off my property
I just had "a little talkin' to" the contractors that are doing work for my neighbors. When you have pregnancy hormones racing through your body, there's no holding back. I'm sure the five or so guys didn't know what to think when they saw an irate pregnant woman heading for them. The contractors decided to hook up the neighbors' water hose to our faucet for their concrete work and to clean their tools, etc. Could they have hooked up the hose to the neighbors' house? Of course, but... Read Full Story

Can I get some peace?
Baby Bear will be considered full term at the end of the week so I should be more mobile. However, my back is killing me so I prefer to stay at home. But, it's really noisy since my neighbors have a big outdoor project going on while they are out of town. The machinery and "guy talk" are driving me crazy. I may have to leave the house just to get some peace. Read Full Story
Sleeping With Tigger
Ainsley decided to sleep in this morning. I asked Dear Darling to wake her up and start getting her ready to go to my doctor's appointment. He found her sound asleep hugging Tigger so I grabbed the camera. She loves her Tigger. Read Full Story
36 1/2 Weeks
My doctor's appointment this morning went well. I won't tell you my starting weight but I will tell you that I've gained 22 pounds. I gained more weight with Ainsley but she didn't feel as heavy as this baby. I've read that it's normal to feel like you're carrying a bowling ball around. As long as he doesn't drop and start rolling down the lane, all is well. Read Full Story
16 Months: Like Father, Like Daughter
36 Weeks
It's official- I'm 9 months pregnant! Baby Bear is packing on the pounds! He weighs about 6 pounds and is around 18 1/2 inches long. He's supposed to gain about an ounce a day which explains why I'm starving all of the time. I'll have to make this post short since I'm getting hungry. At this stage of pregnancy, every cell in my body aches. Yesterday, I got a prenatal massage followed by a manicure. It was nice to have some time for myself, even if the massage therapist wasn't great and there... Read Full Story
Marry Martha Stewart?
I know that I have perfectionist tendencies. There. I admit it. If I'm going to do something, I want to do it well. Martha Stewart is not helping my condition. Thanks to Martha, I've learned how to make a bed. I mean, how to REALLY make a bed with all the pretty layers showing. I make sandwiches for Ainsley in the shapes of butterflies and flowers. I make ice cubes with raspberries suspended in them because they're pretty. I straighten and re-straighten everything. Love is in the details... Read Full Story
