I can't believe we're already into September!! Time sure is flying by and so many changes this year have really kept me on my toes :) I think everything will work out for the best...being unemployed has been hard, but - crossing my fingers while saying this- I think good things will come from it. The slideshow shows some of the pics from trips to the nearby sites this summer. Fall will be here soon!! My favorite time of year!! I love the weather changing, cool crisp air & the holidays... This is a wonderful website. Please read the spoon theory article written by Christine Miserandino. Her article truly expresses how hard it is to live w/ an "invisible" disease. At this time in my life, I am experiencing a great deal of frustration as people do not truly understand the pain & fatigue that I have EVERY DAY due to the JRA. If you have a friend or loved one with RA or anyother "invisible" disease or living in chronic pain, PLEASE read this article. Perhaps it will help... Read Full Story
I went w/ friends to Panama City Beach the other weekend. Water was gorgeous and no crowds, yet! This time of year is perfect for just soaking in the sun, warm w/ low humidity. Read Full Story
Tallahassee is Florida's state capital. It amazes me that there are not more resources available here. There is one rheumatologist here in town. However, I drive up to Thomasville, GA to see the rheumatologist at McIntosh Clinic. (Dr. McMillan, his P.A. Ben Smith, and the staff are wonderful! It's not a bad drive - about 45 min.) Anyone I've ever met in this area also drive up to Thomasville to see Dr. McMillan. It would be great if an Arthritis Foundation chapter was here to help people... Read Full Story
Senator Dawson is LIVING with RA. I'm thrilled that someone in her position is lobbying for people to have an understanding of how much arthritis effects life - work, home, laundry :). The article below was recently published in the Sun-Sentinal. She has "voiced hopes of having $500,000 in state money earmarked to better educate Floridians about arthritis and its effects." I think this is inspiring to anyone who with RA - maybe one day people will be educated about this disease (& more... Read Full Story
Thank you for visiting my blog! I want to use this blogspot to help keep people informed about LIVING with Rheumatoid Arthritis "RA" and any other diseases that keep people in chronic pain (i.e. figromyalgia). I was diagnosed w/ RA at the age of 4 and have been learning how to "LIVE" with it for the past 24 years. I understand how hard it is to enjoy life when your in pain & exhausted all the time, but if we work together there has to be a way to LIVE with it :) I had both my hips... Read Full Story
See you're moving ahead with your idea on an Arthritis Foundation chapter in the area. Good going. I'm going to refer a couple of the postings on Zimbio to your site. Keep living. rahs
Kendra,
Thanks for the e-mail re: zimbio web-site. It sounds as though you're getting your information out to others. By the way what is RA & when does it begin or how does it begin? What is JRA, have you had that? What does it do to your body? Anyway, thought provoking ?'s, for informations sake. Good job!!!!! skb
