Well, well, well. It has been almost a whole year since my last post. I have tried my best to stay out of the political arena and especially the one in Iraq. I couldn't imagine anything coming from my rants and raves but finally the straw has broke yet again and I am forced to write yet another article. Yesterday, it was revealed that thousands of Iraqi soldiers and police were on the payroll who were either dead, injured and thus off duty or ill and off duty. The Iraqi government is... I have a quick question for the writing community. I have recently written a novella and was hoping to get it published. I am a little uneasy about online publishers but it seems to be the most obvious choice. Can anyone out there give me some advice from your own experience as to whether or not online publishing is a good idea? Thanks a bunch! Read Full Story

In a recent interview with Vicente Fox, the former Mexican president said that the dictatorial leaders of Venezuela and Bolivia have the mentality of giving their people fish for a day versus teaching them to fish. This was an excellent analogy because it shows how they are keeping their people economically dependent on the government, thus keeping them in power. The Bush Administration has acted in a similar manner but instead of keeping us economically dependent on the government, they are... Read Full Story

In my opinion, the scariest scene in horror films is the scene in Stephen King's It when Pennywise the clown is in the storm drain. The scene leads up when the main character's younger brother is chasing his boat made of folded newspaper down the rainy gutter and into the storm drain where Pennywise lifts it up to lure the boy closer. And his dialogue about how the boy will float when he comes down there is frightening as hell. Anyways, I think that that particular scene is the scariest scene... Read Full Story

For all of those out there with a passion for horror films, Stephen King's Danse Macabre is a must-read book. It is a nonfiction about the past thirty years in the horror phenomenon from books to a special emphasis on films including Stephen King's personal favorite horror films. This book is in-depth about what makes these films so appealing and how the horror film craze has captured millions of people worldwide. And it can't get any better coming from Stephen King, the master of horror... Read Full Story

From Jaws and The Shining to The Exorcist, Halloween and even Exorcist III, in my opinion horror movies from these time periods are the best. What I love most about these movies is that they rely on true techniques of the horror genre to scare audiences and not computer generated special effects, gore or cheap shocks. Today, there are so many horror movies out there it is tough to find the good ones. Many of them use computers to create unrealistic or sometimes over-the-top effects. Also... Read Full Story

President Bush visited the Pope on his tour abroad to discuss some international issues and one that came up was concern over how Christmas would be tolerated in the Muslim majority Iraq? I am glad to see that no one is making this a holy war or combining organized religion with political interests. Perhaps Bush will find a brain in his stockings this year? But I doubt it. Congress has set hopes that by Memorial Day weekend they will have a new bill for the funding of the war in Iraq that the president will accept. There can be no argument that this bill needs to get passed and the troops need to get their long-awaited support from the government. The question is whether or not there will be another veto. The Democrats have said that they wish to compromise with the president but they refuse to give him a clean bill with no restraint on the war. Thank God. Bush... Read Full Story
