Best Grammys Ever
| From : paullevinson.blogspot.com
I don't remember any Grammy Award ceremony being better than last night's - and I've been watching every one of them since the 1960s. Any one of the following would have been enough to make last night's Grammys extraordinary - Paul McCartney's ending medley, joined about halfway by friends (including Joe Walsh and Bruce Springsteen), in full and fabulous form, leading right up to a great rendition of "The End" The Beach Boys's "Good Vibrations" - with Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine... The Walkiing Dead 2.8: The Farm, the Road, and the Town

The Walking Dead was back tonight with the second part of it second season, and I might as well get to the most stunning part: Lori is driving into town to bring back Rick, Glenn, and Herschel.  She's not sure of the way, looks at her map - no GPS in walking dead world - and looks back up just in time to hit a walker, swerve, and crash nastily on the side of the road.   I haven't seen the coming attractions, so I have no idea what kind of shape she's in, but- Given this is television and not... Person of Interest 1.14: Reese as Ronin
| From : paullevinson.blogspot.com

A soulful Person of Interest 1.14 this past week, with Reese teaming with the kid he has to protect, as he helps him bring to justice the killer's of the kid's older brother.  The kid's talented in music and art, and well versed in the popular culture.  He sizes Reese up as a ronin - a samurai with no master, and, for that reason, with no home.  In the best line of the episode - sad and significant - the kids tells Reese that he'll someday find a home. Until that happens, Reese will continue... Read Full Story
Fringe 4.12: Double Westfield / Single Olivia

Another primo Fringe tonight - 4.12 - which,  like previous episodes this fine season, tells two stories, one proximate, one deeper, which reflect the central setting this season, or of our universe/alternate universe generating a seemingly new our universe/alternate universe, because the Eternal Bald Observers erased Peter from the original our universe/alternate universe, when our Walter was taking Peter from the alternate universe to ours when Peter was a boy ... The proximate story... Read Full Story
NCIS 200
| From : paullevinson.blogspot.com
Published to NCIS Cast
NCIS gave a great present to the fans last night - including me - with a show in which Gibbs sees his life, what he might have done better, what could have been, what might someday be, as a gun is raised and fired at him in a diner. Mike, who left this world last season, serves as Gibbs' guide for most of this.  Gibbs is understandably still haunted about Kate.  What would have happened if he had been able to catch a glimpse of Ari and his rifle on the roof?  Kate would have saved.  And, in... The Enjoyable Finder

Just bopping by to say how much I'm enjoying The Finder .   What's not to like ... cool little flying machines in one episode, a Crockett and Tubbs ( Miami Vice ) send-up in another episode, a great Florida Keys locale (especially appealing this time of year in the northeast), and a game, wise-cracking, eruditely zany cast of four. Walter's the Finder - obsessed with finding things ever since he didn't find the IED that shook up his brain and killed five buddies in Iraq.   But he's not only... Read Full Story
Fringe 4.11: Alternate Astrid

Another excellent Fringe - 4.11 - tonight, which features Fauxlivia and Alternate Astrid on our side, good Eternal Bald Observer action, and some kind of hint about the origin of the EBOs, or what they are ... Alternate Astrid was a delight to see - from her first meeting our Astrid in Walter's lab, and throughout the episode.  She's a high-level mathematical genius autistic on the other side, and she's here to learn something more about her life from our Astrid.  Alt-Astrid lost not only her... Cowardly Republicans Order Reporter Arrested in House
| From : paullevinson.blogspot.com

The assault on the First Amendment reached new lows today, as Republicans in the House of Representatives ordered the arrest of an Academy-Award nominated filmmaker, seeking to make a follow-up documentary to his Gasland movie about hydraulic fracturing and its environmental dangers (also known as "fracking," but don't confuse it with Battlestar Galactica ). The documentary journalist was attempting to film hearings in the House about this serious problem.  Apparently the Republicans were... Read Full Story
Romney Win in Florida Supports Impact of TV Debates
| From : paullevinson.blogspot.com
Published to NH Primary Results
So why, in terms of media theory, did Romney do so well in Florida, as well as Gingrich did over Romney in South Carolina? If you listen to Chris Matthews on MSNBC, you'd think the answer was that Romney and his pac outspent Gingrich by a large margin, with a torrent of negative ads against Romney.   This was the same reason Matthews (and other commentators) gave for Romney's evisceration of Gingrich in Iowa. Except ... Rick Santorum beat Romney in Iowa (or came in just a few votes behind... Read Full Story
Person of Interest 1.11 and 1.12: Realignment and Revelation
| From : paullevinson.blogspot.com

Catching up with Person of Interest 1.11 and 1.12, and good thing I didn't wait any longer - episode 1.11 had a quick little conversation which, if I heard it right, changes the very premise, pulls the rug out from the under the foundation, of the very series.  Which is the kinda thing I really like in a television series. The set-up in 1.11 was pretty good, even without the revelation.  Reese needs at last one episode to convalesce from being shot pretty badly back in December in 1.10... Read Full Story
