Michelle Obama needs a makeover. What a load of crock! Take a good look at the word, "makeover". What does it mean? Makeover to what else, or to who else? It is such a strange feeling to watch and hear all of the buzz the past couple of days. It is strange, because it is almost expected, yet it is shocking at the same time. This is what I attempted to write about in my posts for women. It is a perfect real-life example. They say that Michelle needs a makeover. She needs to be softened. Why... Read Full Story
I need to get something off my chest today. I was out swimming this morning, and I saw a cop or security person walking down a neighbor's property across the pond. As I watched, he baited a pole, and lodged it on the perimeter with the bait in the water. As he was doing so, one of our adult alligators was in the distance following along. The man then walked away, and seemed to drive off. As I got out of the pool, I saw the alligator begin to swim to the bait, and I kept thinkin', "Oh please... Read Full Story
As I rambled on in the past few posts about inner-security, and reconnecting to this sense of secure feelings about oneself in order to move forward in confidence, I promised a practical breathing exercise that is specifically designed to work with this connection and its development. This exercise is easy to practice, and it is one of my absolute favorites to work with! I appreciate those little exercises that are easily incorporated into busy schedules, and energy conservation is the key... Read Full Story
When we forget to connect to our sense of inner-security, we run the risk, among other things, of running around pleasing others and doing, to gain a sense of ourselves. We operate at a less than optimal level to earn a right to "just be", and while everything feels as if it is progressing nicely, the seed of a false sense of security becomes planted. Although this can happen to anyone, the nurturing nature of women tends to lead them here, time and time again. Remaining connected to this... Read Full Story
This post is for us gals. Focusing and remaining connected with a sense of inner security has always been an issue that women struggle with. Did anyone out there grow up with the 'good girl syndrome'? More or less, and in varying degrees, I believe that we have all adopted a little of it into our psychological make-up. Even if it wasn't learned at home, society at large signalizes certain expectations. Have we not all heard at least once about women that have stood their ground, and the... Read Full Story
As we grew up, we all heard about, and observed qualities that are helpful in getting ahead in life. They were expressed in various ways and forms, and it didn't end the day we entered adulthood. Self-confidence, healthy self-esteem, and competency are just a few of the many we describe, while trodding the path to personal success. Along the way, we also encounter expressions of how we may be less than what we could be. To throw out an example, books upon books have been written about... Read Full Story
The path from conscious thought to self-chosen change and action, does not necessarily happen overnight. That is part of what makes the process so fun to work with. Decisions do not need to be made in an instant, and the majority of life-changing action deserves a little thought. The process is why it is called personal development. I experienced an incredibly inspiring day on Wednesday. It was pretty much like any other day, no doubt about that. However, that which made it special, was... Read Full Story
Several 'hot' issues exist in the field of relationship work, and infidelity is one of them. It is hot, because it is a subject that can cause people to become upset just by talking about it. The secrecy in which it takes place, creates nervousness as people think what it might mean if it happened in their own relationships, and understandably so. After all, for the faithful partner, infidelity is a situation in which one is rendered into feelings of helplessness. The effects of infidelity... Read Full Story
