The snow has melted and the grass has sprouted and gardens are being tilled.  You know what that means?  Its severe weather season.  Yes, It is already May 14 2012 and the Northwest has already had its first Slight risk for severe weather as outlined by the Storm Prediction Center.  I have also already attended my annual skywarn meeting as well.  Temps have risen dramatically in the last 3 days.  We had temps in the upper 70′s yesterday and today we had very widely scattered thunderstorms... It looks like the storm prediction center has issued a See Text Outlook with 5% risk for severe winds here in Eastern Idaho.  If the forecast does indeed turn out to be true I will be out chasing.  I have yet to look at all the models to get an idea of what time it will occur as well as all the dynamics involved.  I am thinking it will be an afternoon/evening event.  I will be charging the camera’s and finishing homework tonight so that I will be free tommorow.  I will give an update... A major earthquake has struck in Northern Japan.  This is the most intense footage I have ever seen and it has yet to end.  From Tsunami’s coming ashore and damaging everything in its path to structure fires and even refinery fires, Japan is definitely seeing some major catastrophic damage.  The earthquake was registered at 8.9 Magnitude.  The entire Pacific coast is under a Tsunami Watch and Hawaii is under a warning.  This is a potentially dangerous situation for Hawaii.  Sirens are...
