I was not successful in terms of sales, however, I am happy to have just gotten back into the game. Onward and upward, I say!!I have some computer issues, like my scanner is on the fritz and I have no digital camera at the moment so I can not even upload my latest painting, but I will soon rectify both issues so I can share my wo... Finally!! Back Painting Again!!
From:  creakyeasel.com
Well, at long last, I have paint on canvas again. I will take some pictures as I progress. Thanks so much to all of you who have patiently waited for something new or at least a post to let you know I am still alive and kicking! It is so difficult to manage my time nowadays. I just do not have the energy I had once and there always seems to be something more urgent than what I want to be doing, but I think it is time to put me first for a while as I feel the stress getting to me again and I do... Getting Back To Normal
From:  creakyeasel.com
I am finally getting back to a normal pace and will be able to paint once again. I went out and bought a few new supplies just to give me a little incentive! Since I do not currently have a camera, I bought some smaller canvasses that I will be able to scan, and that will be easier to finish! I have really missed painting, it is amazing how often I think about it. I see things every day that I imagine my self painting and I wish I could capture it right then so I do not forget just how th... Read Full Story

What's New?
From:  creakyeasel.com
I apologize for the lack of new content on this blog lately. I have returned to work full time and at the moment there just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day. I am sure it will be different after I get used to the new pace.Painting has been pushed to the background for now and I have not been able to finish any new artwork to post on The Creaky Easel. It is never far from my mind though, and I have several ideas for new pieces. I have sold a couple pieces and am hoping to get into ... Read Full Story
Creativity Has Its Reward

Kim at laketrees has chosen me to be among those she honors with this award for creativity. She has chosen the following passage from Wikipedia as her definition of creativity.Creativity has been attributed variously to divine intervention, cognitive processes, the social environment, personality traits, and chance ("accident", "serendipity"). The Trapper's Cabin - A new original artwork painted in acrylics
From:  creakyeasel.com
This painting was created from a photo my husband took of an old trapper's cabin near Grande Prairie, AB on the the Forestry Trunk Road. I just loved the simplicity of the scene but did use my artistic license to improve it a little bit. I have decided to show you how it looks in a frame. You can click the links to buy the original artwork or a print if you like it. Here it is without the frame. This is paintedin acrylics and measures 20 X 24 inches on gallery wrapped canvas. ... The Trapper’s Cabin
The Trapper's Cabin My husband found this old trapper’s cabin on the Forestry Trunk Road between Grande Prairie and Grande Cache, Alberta. The simplicity of the scene and the thought of the lifestyle appealed to me.  However,  I have used artistic license and created a slightly different scene for it in this painting.  This original acrylic artwork is 20 by 24 inches and on gallery wrapped canvas and looks really nice framed.  It will be available for sale in my gallery.  Let me kno... Inside The Painter's Studio
From:  creakyeasel.com
Since I have not been able to complete any new art, I thought I might share a peek at the inside of my paint studio. This is the area to the left of the creaky easel, the cupboards where I stash a lot of the stuff for my crafts like sewing and a lot of the excess materials I have managed to accumulate for painting. I keep the lesser used items like the oil paints and all the paraphernalia that goes along with it inside there as well. This is the area to the right of the creaky easel where I ... Read Full Story
