Inside The Painter's Studio

Since I have not been able to complete any new art, I thought I might share a peek at the inside of my paint studio.

This is the area to the left of the creaky easel, the cupboards where I stash a lot of the stuff for my crafts like sewing and a lot of the excess materials I have managed to accumulate for painting. I keep the lesser used items like the oil paints and all the paraphernalia that goes along with it inside there as well.

This is the area to the right of the creaky easel where I work on my ceramic dragons and other craft projects. The shelves hold a lot of the magazines and videos and craft supplies, the black baskets on the top shelf hide a multitude of small items like fabric scraps and lace trimmings etc. You can see some of the ceramic dragons in various stages up there as well. There on the table is the carousel of small bottles of craft paints that I use for decorative painting. Underneath the table, hidden behind the fabric is a stash of old frames and canvasses and paintings that are not fit to be seen.

This one is directly facing the easel and you can see the various pots of paint on the little folding table and the wooden stool. Also on the table is a carry tray of smaller tubes of acrylic paints my gesso and brush basin. I keep a roll of paper towel on the easel behind the canvas and always have some clutched in my hand as I paint.

On the floor beside the creaky easel, you can see the dog basket where my little companion Oscar, the chihuahua sleeps as I paint. He always loves to be underneath a blanket. On the creaky easel, you can of course, see an original acrylic painting in progress and its companion, part of a diptych, on the floor leaning on the front leg.

This is my 'art gallery wall' in the living room where I usually arrange my artwork to see how it looks on the wall before taking it to the gallery shop for sale.

This is the wall just outside the studio where I keep a lot of the paintings between showings.

I had to do a bit of tidying to make it this presentable, I am a bit messy when painting and tend to forget about everything else, like the housework!
