These adorable totes from one of fashion's top designer, Marc Jacobs proves that eco-friendly fashion is not just another trend. I say that because, for someone considered to be one of American fashion's best and most talented. Took the time to do his part in saving mother earth. What I love about this totes is they are still quite trendy and chic considering they are made of organic hemp. Snaps for Marc Jacobs! Crimes of Fashion: Rue du Mail Velour Cocoon Coat
Oh Velour... So soft and luxurious yet can be disastrous when used for clothing. I'm not totally against velour, I think that it should be limited to loungewear, dancewear and those few activewear garments that have managed to become a part of the everyday wardrobe -- like velour pants by Juicy Couture. This 'Cocoon' Coat by Rue du Mail is an example of velour overdone ( as if the design is not offensive enough ). As much as I try to hypothesize any reasons why Rue du Mail would have made... diosho-vss73649-vea-n0-ner-t.jpg
All summer long, I've been advising  TheSmartStylist.com readers to refrain from spending hard earned money on shoes, clothing and accessories that are priced to much for something that you can wear for three months. For those who took my advise, grab a hammer and break that piggy bank because it's time to splurge! As I was shopping for this week's shopping splurge, I came across a pair of fabulous Black Dolce and Gabanna Open Toe Slingback and I told myself this is definitely a splurge. But... Read Full Story

Fall Beauty Looks: Dior 'Dandy' Collection
_5679685.jpg
Christian Dior Fall 2008 Couture Collection is haute couture at it's finest. John Galliano showed us glamourous perfection. Undeniably one of my favorite couture collection of all time. Everything came together for the show, the gorgeous models, fierce fashion and flawless make-up. Inspired by the 1930s, the rich plum and berry colors contrasted by warm, deep shades of beige punctuated the collection. I may have ran out of superlatives to describe Dior's Fall Collection. This fall beauty... Read Full Story

Crimes of Fashion: Ed Hardy 'Tanya' Satchel
edhardytanya.png
For quite some time now, Ed Hardy is one brand that I'm on the fence with. I'm for edgy, fashion forward style and design but when it starts to borderline obnoxious and overplayed, I start to doubt and loose interest on the designer. And that's where I stand with Ed Hardy. I respect the reintroduction of the tattoo / biker inspired fashion and made it trendy and hip. This Tanya Satchel, for me is having an identity crisis. I see a little bit of Juicy Couture influence here, a little bit of... Read Full Story
Splurge of the Week: Behnaz Sarafpour Two-Toned Dress
product3744_large.jpg
I'm crazed about this two toned dress by Behnaz Sarapour! This dress is modern yet feminine and elegant. The wave and scallop pattern done in metallic silver and purple (a color trend for fall) adds an interesting texture. A delicate belt that has both the purple and metallic silver colors is so chic! Pair it with fierce shoes like this 'Patio' Peep Toe Pump Davis by Ruthie Davis and 'Layla' Heel by Paris 'That's Hot' Hilton. Both compliment the dress' color and interesting design. Davis by...
