I heard 25 years ago or so that the Giants were just about to institute a cheerleader squad, but that either during a rehearsal or at their first game, the beauties lifted individual signs that read "O G G I A N T S" of (I can't remember) "G O G A I N T S" and Wellington Mara saw it and fired them on the spot.
