I need to be more careful what I say. I was talking with a colleague of mine about the lack of marketing that a certain startup has. His stance was …..
Him: “I’m sure they are doing the best they can.”
Me: “Well it’s not enough, they are still doing sooo many things wrong.” (I would like to add a disclaimer here, DO NOT do things just to do them. I am a trained professional, do not try this at home.)
Him: “Look at Mr. Hotshot.”

How are you using social bookmarking sites in your social media strategy?
I’ve been using De.lic.ious for months now, but until recently only as an online drawer to store all of the interesting blogs, websites, articles, and videos I found throughout the course of my day. However, recently it occurred to me that I could search keywords for topics of value to my target market and then have great material to pass along through Twitter and Facebook. I’ve been saving g... Right now everyone is talking about twitter. It is being mentioned by talk shows, news anchors, columnists, and politicians. Further proof that is is making it’s way to a primary method of communication. As far as a full-on useage adoption however, it is basically somewhere between morse code and text messages. Meaning that you either get it … or you don’t.
Then I saw this from Sprint in early April - it was such a smart move. This video marked the first time I “heard... Read Full Story
This last Monday, I had the fantastic opportunity to attend a VIP party at SeaWorld hosted by @RealShamu in association with @doterati … that whale can sure plan a party. While I was there I got free drinks, appetizers, and best of all … to ride Manta before anyone else. Did I mention that you ride the entire thing superman - face down - on your stomach - oh my god I’m going to smash into the ground … style ?
While we were there, @RealShamu passed out t-shirts that sa... Read Full Story
If you are one of those who watch my every move, I’m taking out a piece of time here to say thanks. There has been a lot of things going on lately that have kept me off my blog, twitter, and well, anything that can take out time. I’m cutting the time-loss fat.
Why ?
For about a year now I’ve been working semi-dilligently on a startup concept. It’s not up and running yet - not because I’m lazy, or don’t have the knowledge on how to do it. It’s because ... Read Full Story
I saw this on twitter today as a trending topic. #heyxboxlive and I was instantly intrigued.
Lots ofthoughts went through my head as to what this hashtag could be used for, but not until I saw the recent comments involving it did I fully understand what xbox live was up to.
Get this … they were listening to their consumers. Yeah, strange right ? Believe it or not you can use social media to LISTEN to your audience for a change and get some amazing feedback. Incredibly, a few brands are... Read Full Story
Arby’s new “no grease on our RoastBurger” campaign seems to be fairly solid. I’m sure that most of you by now have seen the Arby commercials where the kid takes a hamburger and slicks down his greasy hair with it. Well here is the latest expansion to their segment.
Why is this relevant ?
It quickly makes a comparison. It adds shock value through the use of how much grease is involved. The speed shot is fun to watch. Mona Lisa is classic. The video can be forwarded. It... Read Full Story
I’d like to first note that everything you see here is a direct copy from what has already been posted on BuzzFeed. I hope you will forward this to your social media networks. The entire credit of what you see following this sentence goes to them.
BuzzFeed readers: Jenny needs your help. At just 14, she was mysteriously paralyzed. Now, her family is looking for other people who like Jenny who became suddenly paralyzed. It’s the only way they can figure out why she is sick and kno... Read Full Story
As many of you know, I’m always fascinated by the Mac / Apple phenomenon. While I am personally not a “Mac” user, It seems as though modern culture forgets today that Mac is Macintosh. (See what I did there? “Mac” is in quotes, because it’s supposed to be … but we never see it like that.) Macintosh however, was not sexy enough and it is almost as if the brand has died. Notice that I didn’t say changed. Died completely.
What originally inspired t... Read Full Story
Earlier today I came across Nike’s new video campaign for their woman’s division. The video goes on about how women are unfit to do sports, math, and should never sweat. It purposely insults, and also gives an early 40’s feel in order to (hopefully) remind women not only how far they have come, but also to fully squash any remaining stereotypes once and for all. I’m not so sure that it will get the results that they are looking for.
If you are a woman the video will wa... Read Full Story
