Something wicked this way comes...
I have been busy working on some Halloween goodies. The first picture is of one of my new soldered pendants. I love the witch silhouette and on the back it has just one word, that's right, "Wicked." The bottom picture is of a pair of earrings I made from polymer clay. I never seem to get time to play with my clay, but it is so much fun when I do. I prefer the devious looking Halloween creatures it seems. I am also working on a pumpkin art doll. I will have to post those as he becomes... Read Full Story

I Love my Dremel Tool!!
I bought the Dremel Press stand almost a year ago and never took it out of the box. I had to have it and then it just sat there. When it came time to use it I realized my old rotary tool would not work in it. RATS! I had to go buy a brand new Dremel tool, but I am so happy I did. I love this tool. It really is versatile and I have just scratched the surface. I put holes into a mountain of dominoes, polished my soldered jewelry and also made holes in little wooden disks for pendants... Halloween Charm Bracelet
I know I am a little early, but I looove Halloween. I started to make some fun stuff for the etsy shop and my booth at the antique mall. Here are the first couple of things I have made. The charm bracelet is a combination of charms I made myself. I made a variety of polymer clay charms, ghosts, ghouls, and JOLs. Then there are some cute wooden charms that have collage sheet images, and finally there are some metal JOLs to finish it off. I am going to start offering the charms... Read Full Story
My olympic hero
Dara Torres is 41 and mother of three children is swimming for the US in the 2008 Olympics. Now that is someone that inspires me. This is an old photo of her, I hope there will be a medal or two for her this year. I don't know about any of you, but when I was 12 I watched Nadia score her perfect 10's and decided right then & there I wanted to be a gymnast too and go to the olympics, yeah right. I was heart broken to find out I was way too old to go for that dream. At 12 I was too old... Read Full Story

Rust Experiments
I have been playing around with the rusting kits that you can buy at the craft stores. Here is a couple of items I am in the process of rusting right now. The first photo is of an item that has not been touched, the second picture is the same type of plaster piece with it's first rusting coat done, the third picture of the angel has had about 3 coats of the rust activator applied. I will be giving it a couple more coats until the patina is just right. It seems the more you coat it... Read Full Story
Hunting for Goodies
I have a string of thrift stores I visit several times a week and one or two outlet stores that I am thrilled to have near my neck of the woods. Here are a couple of the things I found this week. The Keyword game is from 1953 and is in perfect condition including the directions. The box was sealed so I couldn't peek inside until I got home and was I thrilled when I saw all of the wonderful pieces it included. Next at my favorite outlet store Ballard's Back Room, from the Ballard's... Read Full Story
Beach Theme at the Sassy booth
Pam and I decided we wanted to do a beach theme in our booth for the month of July. Here is what we found. I found these great apothocary jars and filled one with sand and shells. Pam has a lot of beautiful glassware that blended beautifully. I decided I had to make some art to go with the theme so I made these three mini canvas collages with beeswax and mica for shine. I hope our customers are in a beachy frame of mind when they come to our booth. Read Full Story
My 100th sale on Etsy
I am sure there are tons of people selling a whole lot more than me on etsy, but I sure am excited about my 100th sale this week. I have found selling on Etsy to be a fun way to let my creative expression free to the world. I highly recommend you get your own store if you have been considering it. I used to try to sell on Ebay and it did not work well for me, plus it cost a lot more even if I didn't sell my item. If any of you reading my blog have ever bought anything from my store...
