Due to popular demand…

The editors here — myself, Mike, and Jeff — have decided to crawl back to the rock we came from. We migrated from our original site, The Western Experience , to start this site. We’ve had fun doing it. During the meantime, however, The Western Experience was still pulling in lots of traffic and still generating a sizable readership and following. The soft landing I imagined never happened. This point, along with the occasional emails I’ve received, we decided with very little hesitation that... Read Full Story
An energy independent Israel?
| From : americanmaxim.com

Assuming the news is as reliable as it is optimistic, Israel has hit a nice stroke of luck in one of its coastal oilfields. A massive natural gas field — believed to be 16 trillion cubic feet — was located in its Leviathan offshore oil field. It is estimated that deposits hold enough energy to meet Israel’s energy needs for the next 100 years. Israel, like most countries who find themselves at odds with oil producing states, would like nothing better then to be energy independent. Israel more... Read Full Story
The ‘Constitution’ is very, very important

Go over to Iowa Hawk and see the fun he had at the expense of Ezra Klein’s “non-binding” comments of the Constitution and the inability to understand the document because it was written “over 100 years ago.” It is very funny though totally a spoof. Mr. Klein did attempt to clarify his comments. Commentary Hot Air Michelle Malkin The Gateway Pundit RedState Big Journalism AmSpecBlog Read Full Story
Book Review: The Motorcycle Diaries

There is no amount of words which can express how much hell I am going to catch for this one. Recently, I was about as south of our southern border as one could get without freezing one’s extremities off when I picked up a copy of the Motorcycle Diaries. The book is the personal writings of one Ernesto Guevara–more nefariously known as Che Guevara the legendary Argentine Marxist revolutionary–before he became the Che. What motivated me to pick up a copy was that it is a looking glass into... Read Full Story

Senator Tom Coburn and Economic Apocalypse.

In an interview with FNC’s Chris Wallace Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okl) takes fiscal hawkism and the case for austerity to new heights. While I don’t generally disagree with the Senator on the need for changes in the way we spend government revenue I find it difficult to believe that we will be facing a GDP crash of 8-9% or 18-19% unemployment in the next decade. While this is certainly possible I find it highly un-probable. Nevertheless, the Senator’s sentiments concerning our fiscal habits... Read Full Story
E.J. Dionne’s ‘simple-bastard’ approach to Civil War history.

This new year will mark the 150th anniversary of the United States Civil War. Arguably the most divisive and bloody conflict in which our fledgling nation ever participated in. Many debates have ensued throughout the years as to the causes Civil War leading to half-truths and a certain amount of revisionism by some , such as progressive essayist, E.J. Dionne. There remains enormous denial over the fact that the central cause of the war was our national disagreement over race and slavery... Read Full Story

Obama’s holiday reading

What book has President Obama set aside for his holiday reading? One of Lou Cannon’s biographies of President Ronald Reagan, of course. The word is that, arguably, he chose one of his best, “President Reagan: The Role of a Lifetime.” During the 2008 campaign, he was photographed holding the highly touted “The Post American World” by Fareed Zakaria’s. ” The infatuation with President’s reading lists is hardly new. The same goes for well read presidents. The legacy of well read presidents is... Read Full Story
