Assuming the news is as reliable as it is optimistic, Israel has hit a nice stroke of luck in one of its coastal oilfields. A massive natural gas field — believed to be 16 trillion cubic feet — was located in its Leviathan offshore oil field. It is estimated that deposits hold enough energy to meet Israel’s energy needs for the next 100 years. In an interview with FNC’s Chris Wallace Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okl) takes fiscal hawkism and the case for austerity to new heights. While I don’t generally disagree with the Senator on the need for changes in the way we spend government revenue I find it difficult to believe that we will be facing a GDP crash of 8-9% or 18-19% unemployment in the next decade.
