That was a question a friend of mine asked recently. Being a marketing person, I should have had a short answer to this question - but I didn’t.
Viral marketing is incredibly powerful tool when properly harnessed. But the way you use viral marketing is completely dependent upon the type of business that you have. There are some great resources on the web that describe, and give examples of, viral marketing. I have captured some of those in this binder:

Wouldn’t you love to have fresh, seasonal produce picked from your garden every week? When I read this article by the SF Chronicle about fresh and seasonal produce delivered to your door, I realized that the trend might finally coming to the Bay area.
Looks like more people are shopping for organic produce, but they want even fresher produce than what their local markets can provide. Bay Area residents are signing up with local farms to have fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables delivered... Read Full Story
Hello spy-action movie fans!
Wanted comes out in theatres this Friday the 27th and it has been getting great reviews. It is about a team of assassins who stop ‘bad’ people from doing bad things, but it sounds like there is a twist. Morgan Freeman looks really cool in the trailers playing what might be a ‘bad’ guy role and leader of the assassins. Angelina revives her part as a Mrs. Smith type character without the Mr. in her life. And James McAvoy plays a geek unleashing his destiny as a... Read Full Story
I wrote a post back in February on the trials of my rescue dog Toah. Part Pit bull, Toah is a scary looking dog with yellow eyes and serious issues - he was extremely afraid of people and aggressive toward other dogs.
But my problem with Toah wasn’t him, he wasn’t the wrong dog, I was just the wrong owner. I needed some serious obedience classes.

First, I must tell you that her eyelashes were the most beautiful I’d ever seen - soft, long and lush both the top and the bottom lashes. She told me that she applied a thin layer of this stuff right at the base of the hairline. I... Read Full Story
I’m sorry, but I view evaluating software as just as much fun as having a root canal. There are people in the world that love to evaluate software - I’m just not one of them. I just have a job that I want to get done and I need some software to help me out. I would prefer that someone just find the perfect package for me, but I’m too picky to rely on someone else!
So here was my most recent challenge. Graphics generation is something that I have always struggled with. I really need... Read Full Story
There is nothing quite as exciting as seeing a startup company hitting that key acceleration point. That is when all those hopes and dreams and long hours start to look like they will eventually pay off.
I love it when my friends’ companies hit this point. So I was especially delighted to see all the great press on Picateers. What a fabulous concept! Take the old model of school pictures and turn it on its head and turn it into a fundraiser. At a time when schools are scrambling for... Read Full Story
