John Mayer isn't really my cup of tea, but I know LOTS of people who love him. For some reason, there are just a couple of pretty popular performers that I can't get into. DMB is one of them and John Mayer is one of the others. Other than that, I'm a huge lover of music in general. For those of you that do happen to be John Mayer fans, tickets for his upcoming concert in Boston (in Feb) go on sale this Saturday at 9am EST. That seems a little suspect to me because usually tickets always go on... Read Full Story

You know what? I just realized that I've never been to the ballet. I've been to musicals, plays, operas, the symphony. Just about everything you could think of. But I've never been to the ballet. I was just reminded of that when I got this email about the new partnership that the Boston Ballet and Zipcar launched recently to provide Zipsters with discount tickets. The internationally renowned Boston Ballet and Zipcar, Inc., the world’s largest car-sharing service, have partnered to bring ... The folks at Masterpiece Rentals asked me to take a look at their site and see what I thought about their Florida luxury rentals. And it couldn't have come at a better time. It's starting to get chilly out and worst of all, it's starting to get really dark wayyy too early in the day. So writing about Florida will help to keep my mind off the fact that it's pitch black at 5pm.The last time I was in Florida was three years ago. I was at a sales meeting in Miami and had the distinct pleasure... Read Full Story

All of you know that I'm a fan of Barbara Lynch, B&G Oysters being my favorite. Which reminds me, I need to go there sometime soon. The Butcher Shop is also awesome, along with No 9 Park. The only place that I wasn't a huge fan of was Sportello. Next up on the docket, her first cook book. Here's what Tasting Table has to say:Now, she's bringing her singular culinary ethos to the home kitchen with her first cookbook, Stir. The book outlines her trajectory from a scrappy South Boston up... Read Full Story

I never made it out to the Sonic in Peabody (here) after it opened back in August. I've been known to drive pretty far for fast food cravings (ie: driving to Burlington for Chic-fil-a) but I guess I just haven't craved Sonic yet.For those of you in Marlborough, you might not need to drive too far to get Sonic if a new proposal gets approved.Marlborough may eventually be home to an uncommon sight in Massachusetts - a Sonic Drive-In restaurant. The proposed location is on Boston Post Road Wes... Read Full Story

According to the Herald, the owner of NYC's Shake Shack has submitted a proposal to bring one to the Boston Common. His proposal is one of two that are competing for the space. Sounds exciting to me.New York City’s beloved Shake Shack is angling for a spot in the heart of the Hub as the owner of the bustling Madison Square Park burger spot is one of two restaurateurs pitching the city on a much-needed new eatery on Boston Common. That puts the Madison Square Park landmark in head-to-head co... Read Full Story

Bloggery media rep Dwillens swung by the Wheelock Family Theatre this past weekend to check out the production of A Tale of Two Cities that I told you about earlier (here). Here's what he had to say:Wheelock Family Theatre has produced here a greatly approachable introduction to Charles Dickens's most famous novel, A Tale of Two Cities. Dwayne Hartford's updated language makes the narrative accessible to the modern audience, even to those who may not be familiar with the novel itself. In ord... Read Full Story

The Boston Globe is launching a new digital version of their newspaper and I commend them on the fact that they actually address one of my main issues with reading the news online right now. I like to read the paper cover to cover. This way it makes it next to impossible to miss anything. Online versions right now are just a series of hyperlinks, so I always feel like I'm missing something. The Boston Globe is launching a new electronic version of the newspaper for which it will charge $4.9...
