Google about to buy DIGG.com ?

According to several reports from the tech industry, Google’s negotiations to purchase Digg.com have been recindled over the last six weeks. Google’s fascination with the Digg voting concept estimates the acquisition price to be in the $200 million range. The two companies have reportedly signed a letter of intent, getting them closer to a deal that will add Digg.com to the Google News property umbrella.

However, it could be a couple of weeks before the deal is finalized, but the acquisition could still fall apart. Microsoft, which was previously interested in the company, may be willing to step back into the bidding war.
