FANTASY FOOTBALL
Hello everybody, hope you are having a great summer.  With the arrival of the new and upcoming football season, I have started a yahoo fantasy football league.  If you want to join and compete with the "schriebsblog" guru, the league name is SchriebsBlog and the password is Jets.  (you need the capital J).  If you have any questions, you can email me at countzacky@yahoo.com Read Full Story
Midseason Baseball Rankings
Here are the Baseball Rankings for the first "half" of the year. 1. Chicago Cubs:  They have the best record in baseball at 57-38, what more needs to be said. 2. Los Angeles Angels:  They also have the best record at 57-38.  They get the bump down to second because they lack the star player that the cubs have.3. St. Louis Cardinals:  I'd love to put the Rays here, but they are on the decline.  The Cardinals however are in the National League, and could put up 97-100 wins this season.4... Read Full Story
Sweep of Padres
I a completely dominating performance by the Yankees, they swept the Padres, allowing only 6 runs over the three games.  What is even more impressive, is the "damaged" Yankee rotation allowed only 3 of those runs (2 by Rasner and 1 by Chamberlain).   They have now won 7 in a row and have the 7th best record in baseball.  Only one week ago they were tied for the 15th.  They are showing that they are truly an elite team, despite what the talking-heads have been saying.  Although the Yankees... Wang out for the count
It was recently reported that Wang will be out for 6-10 weeks and possibly more.  With him out, the Yankees will need to look for another starter to replace him.  They have already had to find replacements for Kennedy and Hughes, and will now need to have a third spot starter.  Rumors have surfaced about either Brad Penny or Sabathia, but neither seem likely.  David Wells' name is also being tossed around, but he too will likely not be chosen.  Probably, the Yankees will try to rebuild from... 10 Cent Sports
I recently discovered this great website, called 10 cent sports.  Once you sign up, only your email is required, you receive to cents to bet with.  From there, you work your way up 'till you make the big bucks.  There are people who have won as much as 1000$.  I've only been playing fort two days and have already won 70 cents.  That may not seem like alot but thats actually a 700% increase.  In no time at all, you could make 20$ and then even more.  And don't worry, if you manage to blow all... Breaking News: Wang injured
For all of those watching the Yankee game you just saw this; Chien Ming Wang stumble towards home plate, only to be helped off the field and into the clubhouse.  For a player who barely runs the base path, it isn't hard to imagine that he pulled a hamstring or some other leg muscle.  Either way, it looks bad. Mets Game postponed
Just as a quick info, the Met game has been postponed from Saturday afternoon to sunday afternoon, due to rain.  Since the Mets and the Rangers won't play again this season, (or  possibly years), they will be forced to play the make-up game tomorrow.  However, there is more rain in the forecast for then so they will most likely just wait it out 'till all hours of the night. Mussina wins again: Yanks win 8-4
For all those who said that Mike Mussina was washed up, old, and barely a decent reliever, you guys were all wrong.  I however, was right.  I have said since day one that Mussina would pitch well this year.  Even I didn't think it would be this good though.  I thought maybe 14-17 wins with a 4.65 ERA.  Basically, a third starter.  it would have been tough to expect him to be pitching this well, a potential 20+ win season and only a high 3 ERA.  If he can keep this up, he will be in Cy young... Tim Russert
Although he has little to nothing to with sports, Tim Russert passed away this afternoon of an apparent heart attack.  He was an excellent analyst and a political figure for as long as I can remember.  I enjoyed watching him when I did, and he got me through the 2000 and 2004 elections with his markerboard and calculator.  He was the one that we could count on. He was only 58 years old. Read Full Story
