OQL A Year Later
From:  onequartlow.com
Give or take.  Onequartlow.com turned a year old at some point in April.  Yeah, most on line types do a big party type celebration whenever their site rolls past any landmark.  I still crack up when I see folks patting themselves on the back when they make it a month, two and so on.  Not much has changed with OQL over the past year with the exception I guess of a much better host and more professional blog appearance.  Both really courtesy of the Ninja! Otherwise, OQL has pretty much been a... Read Full Story
Gas Pump Computers..Unintentional Consequences!!
From:  onequartlow.com
One of the unintended consequences of trying to do what oil producing nations are trying to do to America is that they’ve out-priced the infrastructure.  At first look, those who don’t understand may say, “so what?”  Well, the pumps that mom and pop stores around this great nation of ours deal with are calibrated to a certain level.  They only allow gas prices to go so high…Apparently 4.00 was a tipping point.  Guess what.  Most of the pumps will cost $700 or so to get updated computers... Stimulus Check Arrives….Thanks Dubya
From:  onequartlow.com
Well our 1,200 arrived last night and I got to thinking about how to best “stimulate the economy,” but then my wife said, “didn’t we already do that?” I suppose it may have been the 1,000 dollar Kirby Sentria, or perhaps the 200.00 mother’s day gifts, or maybe the brand new DVD player, or maybe the 700.00 per month I spend in gas, or maybe it ….oh nevermind…..It’s obviously long ago been spent as I suspected it would be! Oh well, I suppose this will solidify the biggest income month we’ve... Read Full Story

Happy Anniversary My Love
From:  onequartlow.com
Happy anniversary, my love: After all these years, my lover still! Perhaps we’ve come this far by force of will; Perhaps by what sweet winds within us move. Years alone do not decisive prove, As time’s a box that holds both good and ill; Nor can one long be loving without skill; Nor long be cool below and warm above. In you I’ve found a shoreline for my sea Vast enough to hold me in its arms, Embracing both the turbulence and deep, Reconciling me to limitation. So may you find a... Read Full Story
Stimulus Check Searches Going Through The Roof
From:  onequartlow.com
One of the advantages of posting on a topic long before the national consciousness really gets it, is that it’s been on line for a while. The vast majority of my traffic for the first time in years is now a result of a single, solitary post that seems to redirect most all searches on this topic. It’s really fairly interesting. Normally my posts don’t generate much by way of search engine traffic. This one however, has shown me what the search engines can bring. Even after this long I... Read Full Story
Do Not Be Fooled…Oil Companies Are Raking It In.
From:  onequartlow.com
It’s a bit funny, if not offensive to see politicians and the like talk about how Gas prices are something beyond their control. Here’s the end game.: Exxon Mobil, the world’s biggest oil company, posted a 2007 profit that was almost twice as much as that of the next company on the list of the top 10 corporate money winners, General Electric. It is the highest-ever annual profit from a U.S. company, a record Exxon also set in 2006 and 2005. Earnings rose 2.8% from 2006 on a sales increase of... Read Full Story
PayPal Terrorists
From:  onequartlow.com
I don’t typically get bent out of shape over companies doing what companies do, but something about PayPal’s audacity rubs me wrong. These guys suspended my account last summer and periodically email me warnings about canceling my account etc….. The thing is I virtually begged em to do just that! I’m a fiscal conservative and these guys have basically held a checking account hostage since August of 2007. All because they claim I supposedly once advertised on and apparently still do... School Violence Plot Aborted
From:  onequartlow.com
An 18 year old South Carolina Senior’s plan to bomb a local high school was averted Saturday when his parents called police after 10 pounds of ammonium nitrate was delivered to their home. Ryan Schallenberger was arrested as a result of the phone call from his very own parents. According to sources, Schallenberger had expressed a disliking for certain socially prominent students and their girlfriends. Written sympathies toward the Columbine shooters of 1999 was also unearthed as well as an... Read Full Story
Danica Patrick Breaks Into Indy Win Column
From:  onequartlow.com
It was a rather long time coming, but Danica Patrick finally broke into the Indy win column with a thrilling victory in the Indy Japan 300 on Sunday. After some 50+ races the 26 year old finally got into the winner’s circle out “fuel strategizing” her opponents. As most headed to the pits for the final few laps, Danica eschewed the fuel up and went on to pass polesitter Helio Castroneves to bring home the trophy. In so doing, Danica becomes part of Indy car history becoming the first... Read Full Story
