Sony Ejecting The 1.44MB Floppy After 30 Years

Sony announced today that they plan on halting production of the venerable 3.5″ floppy disk by early next year. It’s understandable, afterall. I mean, when was the last time you actually bought a box of 1.44MB disks? Can’t remember if it was even this century? Apple Releases Security Patches For Leopard and Snow Leopard

Yesterday, Apple released an update to Snow Leopard (10.6.3) containing numerous updates and fixes to various components in that OSX version. Included in the update were security fixes to the system as well. Later in the day, recognizing that those same components are also still available in Leopard, they released a major security patch for it too. Late yesterday Mozilla released a critical update to its latest browser Firefox 3.6.
